That’s honestly one of my favorite parts of what I do. Taking care of my clients, helping them relax, feel confident, and leave feeling lighter than when they walked in. Hair is more than hair to me. It’s a form of self care, confidence, and sometimes even healing. 🤍

The next two weeks are going to be insane as I prepare to head out of town for several weeks with my family. This trip is how I take time for myself and family so I can continue to give back to my clients and staff.

Never did I think I would have an extension business, let alone source hair from a raw bundle.

I didn’t mean to learn how to source this hair but it just happened and I’m grateful for my clients to trust me to source hair that matches their hair texture, to then send off for several weeks to be made into a wefts, and for all the other things that go into this process.

I LOVE getting to be creative, it’s quite the challenge but so rewarding to made all of it come together.

Being a brunettes means you have one of the most chemically diverse hair colors. The richness comes from higher levels of a pigment called eumelanin, which can vary in density and tone, giving you everything from soft chocolate to deep espresso shades.

That’s also why brunettes tend to hold shine really well—more pigment = more light reflection, which is why healthy brunette hair can look almost mirror-like in the right lighting.

It may not be shampoo. It’s probably how you’re using it.

The first wash isn’t even about getting clean — it’s breaking up oil, buildup, dry shampoo, all of it.
If it’s not sudsing much… good. That means it’s doing its job.

The second wash is where the clean actually happens.
More lather, deeper cleanse, lighter feeling roots.

And most people? They’re barely touching their scalp.
You need to get in there — crown, nape, around your hairline — not just the top layer you can see.

Also… rinse longer than you think.
Leftover product = heavy, dull, not-quite-clean hair.

That “salon clean” feeling isn’t a different shampoo.
It’s better technique.

You’d probably be shocked to know we aren’t just putting on some color and throwing in some extensions. This is an art that has tons of intention behind it.

First of all your length and density determine how many rows you will need if you’re going for length. And there’s lots of situations where even when you don’t need or want length that you may need more than 1 row for added fullness.

Your natural length will determine what we can do with the cut. And yes you should be getting a cut and shape into your extensions.

And your natural length and desired color will determine how often you need a color service. I love a low maintenance look but sometimes low maintenance will still mean color every other appointment ( still not often it’s every 16 weeks for most clients). Why? Because in some cases we need to do touch ups for blend. It’s important that we can walk around with the upmost confidence while wearing extensions.

I kept it simple with all the above reasons why your natural length determines so much about your extension maintenance but I promise I’m all about the details in the salon and so is my staff.
