I’ve spent years using products from Sephora, Ulta, and professional lines, so this comes from personal experience:

Professional skincare is typically backed by more research, uses higher quality ingredients, and is designed to create real, long term changes in the skin, not just make it feel nice for a few hours.

That doesn’t mean every product at Sephora or Ulta is bad. There are definitely some great options. But if you’re investing in your skin and want to target concerns like acne, pigmentation, aging, or sensitivity, professional skincare has given me the most consistent results every single time.

As an esthetician, I’ve seen it in my own skin and in my clients’ skin. Better products don’t replace good habits, but they can absolutely make a difference when you’re using the right ones.
