Let’s talk fitness!!💪🏻

For years I struggled with binge eating as a coping mechanism. As a result I suffered from many health issues, lack of confidence, and the inability to do what I loved most in the world: dance. I felt like I was unworthy of competing in pageantry.

Many people think the confidence has to come first- but as you can see from these throwback pics, that’s not necessarily the case. I gained the confidence to take control of my health through pageantry and through initiatives like our beautiful 𝐇𝐀𝐍𝐍𝐀𝐇 𝐁𝐑𝐎𝐎𝐊 𝐏𝐄𝐑𝐑𝐈𝐆𝐈𝐍 ‘s 💪🏻

I fell in love with a new form of movement, weight lifting, and through the help of amazing people like Kayla Mulholland, I was able to reclaim my health and my confidence⭐️

Memorial Day began following the Civil War, when newly freed Black Americans honored Union soldiers who gave the ultimate sacrifice during America’s deadliest conflict. 161 years later, we continue to remember and honor those who have died fighting for freedom and unity for all Americans❤️🤍💙
