I haven’t posted since Utah… and honestly, I think I needed the quiet. 🤍
Life has felt FULL lately. Beautifully full, but full.
I’ve been traveling and investing in education, pouring into the salon and my team, being intentional with my health, and soaking up this season with my little girl who somehow just turned THREE and will be heading off to school before I know it.
And somewhere in the middle of all of that, I’ve felt the Lord pulling on my heart.
My faith has always been part of my life, but lately I realized I don’t want my relationship with Jesus to simply be routine. I want to WANT His presence. I want to include Him in my days and make sure the life I’m building leaves room for what He’s telling me matters.
And weirdly enough… that made me think about the salon too.
There was a time when an appointment was just an appointment. You came in, we talked about life, we laughed, sometimes we cried, did some really good hair, and you went home. 😂
Somewhere along the way, social media became such a big part of running a business that appointments can start feeling like they also need to be a photo shoot, a Reel, a before and after, the perfect outfit, the perfect angle…
And I don’t want to lose the intimacy of what happens behind my chair trying to document everything that happens behind my chair.
I still LOVE creating and sharing beautiful hair, education, my team, and pieces of my life with you. I’m not going anywhere.
I just think, for this little season, you might see a little less of me here because I want to be a little more present everywhere else.
More present with my clients.
More present with my team.
More present with my babies and my husband.
More present with myself.
And most importantly, more present with God.
Maybe that lasts a week. Maybe a few weeks. I genuinely don’t know. 😂
I’m learning that not every beautiful thing needs to become content, and not every season needs to be productive in every area at the same time.
So if it’s a little quieter over here, just know I’m still here. Still doing hair. Still learning. Still growing. Still building.
Just being a little more intentional about what gets my attention right now. 🤍
I don’t even really know how to wrap this week up into a caption.
This was the longest I’ve ever been away from home without my husband or my babies, and whewww… my heart FELT it. There were tears because I missed them so much, tears because I was overwhelmed, and then tears because I couldn’t believe I actually got the opportunity to be here doing this.
But I would do it all over again. 🤍
I came to Utah to learn extensions, but I’m leaving with so much more than that. More knowledge, more confidence, new friendships with women from all over the country, and one friendship in particular that I have a feeling is going to be in my life for a very, very long time. 🥹
Shaylie + The Foundation Academy, THANK YOU. For teaching me, encouraging me, answering my 8 million questions, pushing me when something wasn’t clicking, and creating a space where I could learn something completely new without ever feeling like I didn’t belong there.
And Utah… goodness. There were moments I would just look around and think, “God, You MADE this?!” What a beautiful reminder of how creative and intentional He is.
And lastly, my hubby….Thank you for always supporting me when I come up with another idea that requires me to learn something, grow something, build something, or apparently fly across the country! I couldn’t chase these dreams the way I do without knowing you’re at home holding everything down.
I promise all this hard work is going to pay off so you can play all the golf you want and become a stay-at-home husband someday. 🤪
What a week.
What an experience.
What a blessing.
I’m ready to go home and squeeze my babies now. 🤍

DAY TWO at The Foundation Academy and whewww… I thought day one was hard. 😭
Today we learned how to actually sew the extension hair onto our braided technique and I have officially learned that I am NOT a sewer. Like… at all.
BUT after some much-needed guidance from Shaylie, it finally started clicking and I got the hang of it. PRAISE THE LORD because there was a moment there. 😂
Then we ended the day with our first girl dinner and when I tell you these girls are already my new sisters… I mean it. So thankful for the people God has placed around me during this experience. 🤍
Tomorrow we’re diving into COLOR THEORY and y’all already know I’m excited for that one.

So incredibly grateful to be here learning, growing, and expanding my knowledge beyond curls and into even more of what I’m able to offer behind the chair.
So thankful for a husband who supports me chasing opportunities like this, for Shaylie + The Foundation Academy for having me, and for the chance to learn in one of the most BEAUTIFUL places. Seriously… God was showing off when He made Utah. 😭
