Had an epidural during labor?
This doesn't mean the epidural harmed your baby.
However, after a long labor, a very fast delivery, or a birth with an epidural, it's worth paying attention to how your baby moves their neck.
Watch for these early signs:
➡️ Always looks to one side
➡️ Doesn't turn the head equally
➡️ Feeds better on one breast
➡️ A flat spot is starting to appear
Babies don't choose one side on purpose. If turning the head feels easier one way, they'll naturally keep returning to that position. Over time, this can contribute to head flattening and facial asymmetry.
If any of these signs sound familiar, don't wait. An early neck evaluation can help identify movement restrictions and help you decide what to do next.

What if you've been treating the wrong area all along?
Sometimes pain isn't coming from where you feel it.

"My baby just likes looking that way."
I hear this from parents all the time.
Sometimes that's true. But when a baby consistently prefers one side or has difficulty turning the other way, it's worth having them evaluated.
In this visit, I found left-sided torticollis with tension through the neck and shoulder area. Treatment was gentle and age-appropriate, and we'll continue to monitor progress.
If you've noticed your baby:
• always looks to one side
• resists turning the other way
• is developing a flat spot
don't wait to have it checked

This 3-year-old struggled with constipation for almost a year.
Even with laxatives, bowel movements were often delayed for several days.
After the second visit, he had two spontaneous bowel movements the same day.
Since then, bowel movements became regular without relying on laxatives.
His sleep improved, his appetite improved, and he became much more active.
Every child is different, but sometimes it helps to look beyond the symptom itself.
Has your child ever struggled with constipation or stool withholding?

Many parents notice it only after the head shape starts to change.
One of the earliest signs of torticollis is a baby who consistently prefers looking to the same side.
A simple check:
✔️ Look at your baby's forehead from above
✔️ Compare the position of the ears
✔️ Check for flattening on the back of the head
The earlier neck tension and movement restrictions are addressed, the easier it is to support normal symmetry and mobility.
If you're in Jacksonville and you're concerned about your baby's head shape or neck mobility, schedule an evaluation.

Torticollis Plagiocephaly BabyDevelopment
At 4 months, parents were told he might need a helmet.
They brought him in early, and we worked on tension, movement, and side preference.
This is the same baby at 10 months.
Every child is different, but early support can make a big difference.
If your baby:
➡️ prefers turning to one side
➡️ has a flat spot
➡️ dislikes tummy time
➡️ seems tight in the neck or body
➡️ always sleeps with the head turned one way
➡️ gets frustrated when turning one direction
don’t just wait and hope.
Sometimes it’s not just about head shape — tension and restricted movement may be part of the picture. That’s where gentle hands-on support can help.

The most dangerous kind of pain?
Not the kind that stops you right away.
The kind that makes you think: “It’s just a sore shoulder.” “It’ll go away.”
Then you can’t sleep.
Driving hurts.
Work makes it worse.
And suddenly pain is running your day.
Most people don’t seek help when pain starts. They wait until it affects sleep, movement, and everyday life.
This patient thought he just overdid it climbing a wall for fun.
His words at the end: “It doesn’t hurt at all.”

Still dealing with a belly that sticks out… even when you’re trying to eat well, move more, or do core exercises?
It’s not always just body fat or weak abs.
Sometimes the issue is hidden tension.
When the diaphragm, abdominal tissues, hips, and lower back stop moving well together, your body may start redistributing pressure differently.
That pressure has to go somewhere.
And sometimes… it pushes outward.
This pattern may also show up as:
• bloated-looking belly
• lower back tightness
• hip stiffness
• feeling pulled forward
• core workouts that don’t seem to help
One Jacksonville mom told me after her session:
“I had no idea how much tension I was holding in my belly… I feel such a big difference now.”
If you’re a mom dealing with postpartum tension, stubborn belly pressure, lower back discomfort, or tight hips — sometimes the issue isn’t where you think.

You tried massage, stretching, maybe even chiropractic care…
but the lower back pain keeps returning.
Sometimes the issue is not the lower back itself.
Tight abdominal tissues and restricted movement can keep pulling tension into the spine and pelvis, forcing the lower back to compensate again and again.
Gentle hands-on therapy focused on the whole tension pattern may help the body finally let go.
