Here is something odd. Search for a hair clip for fine hair and almost everything that comes back is made for toddlers. People have started typing the word "adults" into the search bar just to get past the kids' section.
If you have fine hair, you know the other half of the problem too. A clip goes in, looks lovely, and twenty minutes later it is working its way down the back of your head. There simply is not enough hair in there for most clips to grip.
This one is made for grown women with fine hair. The clasp has a rubberized sleeve over the metal so it holds rather than slides, and it is deliberately small at 2.5 inches, because an oversized clip on a fine section is what makes it slip. Smooth cellulose acetate in tortoise shell, made in Europe.
Fine or thin hair, or a half-up on any hair. Not the one if you want all of thick hair up.
Does your hair hold a clip, or is it a losing battle?
Remember these? The big French claw clips that lived on your mom's bathroom counter. Turns out she had the right idea.
If you have thick hair, you already know the problem. Most clips catch about half of it, or they hold for an hour and then start pulling at your scalp. This one is 5 inches, so all of it goes up in one, and the back is flat and curved so it sits against your head rather than hanging off it. That shape is why it does not ache.
One of our customers said it best: "Strong spring. Curves nice to your head. Does not cause headaches, which I have trouble finding ones that do not."
Tortoise cellulose acetate, made in France, $9.95.
