HI OCTOBER! My inner Tumblr queen has been waiting all year to make this collage, because it's SPOOKY SEASON. And yes, just in case you were wondering, I did have a large following on Tumblr circa 2010, and I did make a lot of collages of full moons and smudged eyeliner.

Some might ask if our wedding season is over... and the answer is no, no, it's not. We're going strong through mid-November, so here's a photo of Ann in her zone. This is honestly one of the prettiest getting-ready rooms, and I can't remember where it was. I do remember, however, that there was a very tasty coffee shop right next door. We are booking for 2027!

Renaissance Story Part Three: Hi Ryanne ⁠

Ryanne's been one of Ann's vivid girlies for three years now. She lives in New York City, where she works as an IT specialist and spends her free time playing video games, drawing, trading Pokémon, and exploring the city.

Ryanne’s first visit to Alder came at a pretty major turning point in her life. She had just gone through a divorce and was looking for a new sense of identity. Her hair became part of that reinvention.

Three years later, she still makes the trip back to Alder from New York because, in her words, she’s never seen anyone with hair that looks as good as hers. We’re certainly not going to argue with that. She has loved her hair every single time she’s come in, and she thinks anyone who wants vivid hair should come to Alder. Which is really very nice of her, and also correct.

But the best part of Ryanne’s story is that her hair became so much more than just hair. It became a cornerstone of how she feels about herself. A way to express who she is, especially during a time when she was figuring out who she wanted to be next.

Now she’s building her future in New York, exploring the city, collecting pets with increasingly threatening names, and continuing to look extremely cool.
