Good Morning, my fabulous friends!!! ☀️💜

Today Miss Laurie is joining me for the day! And let me tell you…she is ready to ROCK! 🎸👑

Miss Laurie is one of those wigs that makes Grandma feel instantly put together without actually having to put in much effort. 😉 She’s got that soft, feminine, easy-going look that says, “Yes, I did my hair… and no, you don’t need to know how long it took!” 😂

Today is going to be Grandma + Grand Niece Day! 💕 Mom is busy getting her classroom ready for the upcoming school year, so we are going to hang out and let her work in peace. Because apparently Grandma is now part-time childcare, entertainment director AND professional FRO-YO consultant. 😂

And speaking of FRO-YO… 🍦🍓

After lunch, we are heading out for a little FRO YO ADVENTURE!!! Because nothing says “school is almost back” like loading up on frozen yogurt before the responsible adults have to return to work! 🤣

Then we’re going to go check out Mom’s classroom and maybe even meet the Grand Niece’s teacher!

I can’t believe it… THE SCHOOL YEAR IS ALMOST HERE!!! 📚✏️

It feels like just yesterday we were celebrating the beginning of summer, and now Grandma is looking at the calendar like, “Wait…WHO authorized August to move this fast?!” 😂

Another summer adventure in the books… and this Wig Rockin’ Grandma is here for ALL of it! 👑🎸💜

Sometimes, you’re going to see the hair underneath the wig. ❤️

And you know what? I’m not ashamed of it.

Hair loss has been part of my journey for many years. Wigs have given me confidence, creativity, and a whole lot of FUN—but they don’t erase the reality of hair loss. They simply give me another way to express myself while I navigate it.

There are days I’m rocking a fabulous wig and feeling like a million bucks. 💃🏻✨

And there are days when I’m perfectly comfortable showing you what’s underneath.

Because THIS is part of my story too.

I don’t want anyone who is dealing with hair loss to feel like they have to hide it or be embarrassed by it. Your hair—or lack of it—doesn’t determine your beauty, your worth, your femininity, or your ability to ROCK whatever season of life you’re in.

So yes… sometimes Grandma will be Wig Rockin’. 👑
And sometimes Grandma will be Hair Loss Rockin’. 😜

Either way, I’m still me. And I’m still showing up.

No shame. No hiding. Just embracing the journey—one wig, one bare scalp, and one day at a time. ❤️

Yesterday was Miss Elena, and today it’s Miss Lilly! 💕

Miss Lilly is my Jon Renau Luna in Catalina Blond — a gorgeous, soft, dimensional blonde with that perfectly tousled, beachy vibe. She’s giving “I summer in the Hamptons” even though Grandma is actually summering in Kansas City next to a pool! 😂

And speaking of that pool…

TODAY IS POOL DAY!!! 🏊‍♀️☀️

It is HOT here in KC, and I’m hoping the sun decides to cooperate this afternoon! Because if Grandma has only ONE MORE WEEK of summer freedom, I intend to squeeze every last drop out of it!

There will be NO productivity.
There will be NO guilt.
There will be POOL TIME.
There may even be a little lounging around doing absolutely NOTHING. 😎

Okay…technically, summer break doesn’t completely end until Friday because I have my FIRST STAFF MEETING that day. 😳😂

But I prefer to think of Friday as the universe giving me a gentle warning:

“Ma’am…your summer is officially OVER.” 🤣

So until then?

Lilly and I have VERY IMPORTANT relaxation business to attend to.

Pass the sunscreen, fire up the pool, and nobody mention the word WORK until Friday! 😂💦☀️

Wig on.
Stress off.

This Grandma is TIRED!!! 😂😂😂

I had BOTH Grand Nieces spend the night last night, and let me tell you…getting that 4-year-old to bed was quite the adventure! 😴😂

BUT…at least I didn’t have to take her home in the middle of the night like LAST TIME!!! We are calling that a Grandma WIN! 🙌🏻🤣

Today, Miss Elena is sharing the day with us! 💕 She is feeling very pretty and put-together while Grandma is feeling more like she needs a nap! 😂

She is a Jon Renau Shelby in Venice Blond (22F16S8). She’s soft, feminine, and absolutely gorgeous!

After we drop the 4-year-old off at Montessori, the 9-year-old and I have BIG PLANS…

RELAXATION!!! 🧘‍♀️😂

We may even sneak in some pool time if the sun decides to cooperate. ☀️🏊‍♀️

Because after a night with TWO Grand Nieces, this Grandma has earned some serious lounging time!!!

This is 64. 💜

If you had asked me years ago what 64 would look like, I don’t think I could have imagined this chapter.

Life has a funny way of changing our plans. Sometimes those changes are hard. Sometimes they’re unexpected. And sometimes…they become the very things that lead us to joy.

The last year has been full of transformation. A new career that fills my heart, becoming “Wig Rockin’ Grandma,” finding confidence again after hair loss, making incredible new friends, spending precious time with family, and learning that every new beginning is a gift.

Today I’m celebrating all of it.

Meet Miss Renata, my birthday wig! 💕

Her name comes from the Latin word meaning “born again” or “rebirth,” and I can’t think of a more perfect name for this season of my life.

She is the beautiful Amore Findley in NM Cashmere Brown SR, and every time I put her on, she’ll remind me that it’s never too late to reinvent yourself, try something new, or discover joy where you least expect it.

At 64, I know life isn’t about staying the same. It’s about growing, learning, loving, laughing, and embracing each new chapter with gratitude.

This is 64.

A little wiser.
A little bolder.
A whole lot happier.

Here’s to new beginnings, second chances, unexpected blessings, and finding beauty in every season of life.

Thank you to each of you for being part of this amazing journey. Whether you’ve been here from the beginning or just joined along the way, you’ve made this adventure even sweeter.

✨ Birthday Dinner Tonight! ✨

Well, Grandma is getting FANCY tonight! 💃🏻 It’s birthday dinner time, and I’m bringing out The Phoenix! 🔥

The Phoenix is my Noriko Beau in Sparkling Mocha R — and she is just as gorgeous, sassy, and fun as her name suggests. She represents transformation, rising again, and stepping into a new chapter… which feels pretty perfect for this birthday season! 🥰

And tonight makes her even more special because I’ll be having dinner with the dear friend who named her! ❤️ There’s something extra sweet about wearing a wig that carries a name chosen by someone special.

So here’s to good food, good friends, birthday celebrations, and a little Phoenix magic! 🥂✨

🎉 LET THE BIRTHDAY WEEKEND BEGIN!!! 🎉

Today’s agenda is all about Grandma getting pampered! 💆‍♀️✨

We’re starting the day with a restorative yoga practice because apparently 64-year-old Grandma needs to restore something besides her wig collection! 😂🧘‍♀️

Then it’s a little pool time this afternoon, followed by a MASSAGE because this birthday girl has decided she deserves to be spoiled! 💦💆‍♀️

And tonight? A dinner date with the hubby and some very dear friends. ❤️🍽️

I’ll share a picture of the gal I’m wearing tonight later, but for today, I’m keeping it easy and comfortable with my trusty Envy topper. Because even Birthday Grandma knows when to keep things simple! 😉

Here’s to a weekend filled with relaxation, laughter, love, good food, and a whole lot of birthday happiness! 🥳💖

Birthday weekend… LET’S DO THIS! 🎂✨

Well friends… Birthday Week continues, which means Grandma is still “shopping” in the most affordable boutique in town… my own closet! 😂

Today’s treasure is Miss Shanna, my Gabor Soft & Subtle in SS Honey Pecan. I honestly don’t know why I’ve neglected this sweet gal all summer because she LOVES a little sunshine! I swear she looks even better with a tan. (Unlike me… I mostly just collect freckles. 😆)

Miss Shanna is coming along today while I meet up with a former work buddy to catch up on life, and then I’m off to celebrate with some of my favorite Teacher Assistant friends before we head back for another school year. There will be laughter, stories, and probably at least one person saying, “I can’t believe summer is over already!”

Now for the funniest part…

When I told Hubby about my plans, the very first thing he asked was…

“Do I have to go?”

I said, “Of course not!”

Then—without missing a beat—he asked…

“Does this mean I have to fix my own dinner?” 🤣

Yep.

Thoughts and prayers for the poor man as he bravely faces the refrigerator, the microwave, and possibly… a frozen pizza. 🍕😂

Wish him luck, friends. This may be the greatest challenge he’s faced all week! 😉
