Mae Monroe is a professional esthetician and cosmetologist specializing in brows, skincare, and make-up. Her aspiration is to empower women by making them aware of the bigger picture. She does this through helping them recognize what the power of confidence can bring to any individual. Mae discovered her love for makeup at a young age of 8 when she began admiring the many flawless celebrities that
lay on the flat pages of her mother’s magazines. She had always wondered what made them so beautiful and quickly learned it was make-up. This moment of discovery led her to fully pursue a career in the beauty industry. Mae's family did not always support her dreams. They feared her dream career was too unrealistic and unsustainable. Because of her determination, Mae Monroe quickly changed their faith in her. By the age of 20, she had become a dual-licensed cosmetologist and esthetician with a consistent set of clients in Kansas City. Content with her accomplishments so far, she had no clue what God had in store for her soon after. In 2014, Mae met Gillian Ortega, Mary Kay's most loved NSD through one of her clients, Miss Kansas from the Miss United States Pageant. Gillian Ortega soon not only became a client and a friend, but also became a driving force in bringing Mae's "big picture" to light. Many more doors of opportunity opened after Mae began traveling both nationally and internationally. Her most memorable experience was at “Feel the Power” in Destin, Florida giving Gloria Mayfield Banks her very first esthetic facial. And in Cancun working alongside with Johnathan Kayne, a designer from "Project Runway" on a new reality show called, "The Fashion Hero." Within a short 2 years after obtaining her license, Mae had made herself into force of its own, becoming Kansas City youngest Asian American to establish a successful business by the age of 22. Today, she continues to be a highly sought after wedding makeup artist, a brow guru, treats and educates the importance of healthy skin, shares her expertise on publications, caters to local dermatologists, and mentors other aspiring artist. Although her schedule becomes quickly hectic with travels and catering to her growing business, Mae always finds time to encourage the people around her. She is a true believer in everyone fulfilling their dreams, if and only if, they are truly willing to work hard and smart to achieve it. You can say this girl is definitely Freedom & choice with a combo of power & achievement, as Mae feels make-up should be fun and a tool to bring out your inner boss babe because as long as you have the right tools, knowledge, and your favorite shade of pink lipstick, you are unstoppable.
