Years of lurking on my Instagram, countless tattoo ideas,and an impressive ability to talk herself out of every single one. 😂

And after ALL that overthinking, Aerie’s first tattoo ended up being something she hadn’t even considered. The plot twist? Her daughter had something to do with it 🥰

When she finally decided she ended up making TWO trips to my studio before getting any permanent ink.

And no, she wasn’t having second thoughts. 👀

Turns out, there’s a whole different way to approach getting tattooed, but I’m not telling you how that happened, because for this issue of 465, I handed the storytelling over to Aerie herself.

Sometimes a pop-up is just an excuse to tattoo something ridiculous and adorable.

Kats & Koalas started with a local small-business family going through something unimaginably hard, and a very familiar feeling of knowing what it’s like when your family suddenly needs your community to show up.

So my little Inklings, we’re showing up!

On November 14, Rethink is taking over Koala Café with cats, koalas, coffee, croffles + a flash sheet I’m currently drawing that is already becoming exactly as ridiculous as you’d expect 🐨😂

For this one, I’m donating my time and supplies so 100% of the tattoo proceeds can go directly to Kat and her family while she battles cancer.

Well, apparently I decided I could just do both 😂

How exactly a tattoo artist ends up making a whole-ass magazine is a slightly longer story

It involves a dead newsletter, an unreasonable number of ideas, and the realization that maybe I wanted somewhere to tell the stories behind all this and not just post about them

So naturally, I made 465
