Hi! I'm Carly. I'm a Bay Area native who has called San Diego home for the last 14 years. I am totally and completely obsessed with creating beautiful hair.
Blonde Chronicles University is a virtual learning experience that will help you build confidence behind the chair, improve your business and technical skills, and become more efficient through better time management and impactful placement. I've spent the last 12+ years as a stylist behind the chair and recently, as an educator. I am most known for creating lived in dimensional color, but my goal is to create a relevant look that is customized to your taste and lifestyle. My main focus is maintaining the integrity of your hair because with healthy hair, anything is possible!

I have posted this video a few times but sometimes I just need to bring it back to remind everyone to check their foils 😂😅

I’ve (luckily) never had it happen to this extent, but I’ve definitely opened a foil and had a full on panic attack because the hair was starting to get curly like this (the hair was completely straight naturally 😅). “Months ago” my client had done a straightening treatment in her hair while she was traveling in another country. I put some blonde foils in her hair thinking we are barely lightening at all (maybe 3-4 levels), should be no problem, easy peasy.
Long story short, I opened the foils after 10ish minutes and it looked like ramen noodles and I felt my soul leave my body and immediately rinsed it.
It had been on the hair for such a short amount of time that it was basically level 6 fire engine red (I was lifting through old color). I told her the situation and she was super cool about it. We glossed it darker and that is the first and last time I don’t do a test strand on hair that’s had an unknown straightening treatment plus old color 😅
Anyway that was 8+ years ago and I still remember the feeling in my stomach when it happened 😂

📢 IT’S VERY EASY TO OVER FOIL AT A MAINTENANCE APPOINTMENT! Like, very very easy 😅
🫶🏼 Sometimes all you need is 14 foils. Don’t overthink it. If your client wants to keep dimension, focus your foiling in the areas that show: the hairline, by the part and in the crown. LEAVE. DIMENSION. They want dimension. They told you that. So why are you putting foils throughout the entire head!
