I’ve been thinking a lot lately about how much we put off for later.
When I finish my chores, then I’ll do something fun.
When I lose weight, then I’ll…
When my ankle is better, then I’ll…
There’s always something we think we need to do or achieve first. Even enjoying ourselves can become something we have to earn.
But life is happening now.
While I was thinking this, I got this message from my mom (she’s 97):
“Enjoy who we are. The moment. Live each day fully. Embrace us.”
She went on to say:
“Be joyful for who you are. Enrich oneself with the true meaning of life. Be joyful. If spread around, we will all feel better.”
I love that we’re on the same wavelength. ✨
It’s so easy to get caught up in everything that needs doing or changing and forget to enjoy what’s already here.
I still want to improve my health and do the things I’m working toward. But I want to enjoy my life along the way, too.
So that’s my focus. Make room for the life I want now, because tomorrow is never promised.
And as my mom reminded me, share some of that joy with others. 🌸
I thought someone else needed to hear this today too. 🙂
Ps: I’m loving my new knitted poncho! It’s perfect for our cooling but still warm weather. So glad I took up knitting! 🧶
Nine years ago, I made what I still consider one of the best decisions for my health and my family’s health: getting more careful about the products we use in our home.
There are many products that come to mind when I think of going green but dishwasher detergent is one I think gets overlooked.
We pay attention to what we eat, but what about the products we use to wash the dishes, glasses, and utensils we eat from? We are ingesting that.
There are so many products out there calling themselves “non toxic” that contain harmful ingredients.
Fragrance is one easy ingredient to avoid.
I’ve found a company I trust, and that has given me peace of mind. But since I ran out of my usual dishwasher detergent, I decided to try a popular DIY powder to see how it compares.
This is an experiment! I’ll let you know how well it cleans and how it measures up to my regular product.

Follow along. I’ll share what I use, what I’m trying, and my honest experience.
At some point, life starts to show you what’s important. You begin to notice what lifts your spirits, what you want more time for, and what no longer deserves so much of your attention.
I’m paying more attention to what makes my days feel good.

I was never good at word problems- help me out, please?
If Jodi listed 6 drapery panels on Ebay 6 months ago, and today all 6 of them sold, but Jodi can only find 5, where would the last one be? 🤔💭
I’ve gone through everywhere in my house and every box in my storage unit- twice! 😖

Happy Friday Friends!
Well it finally happened-3 months to the day from surgery and I’m cleared for the pool. What a wonderful feeling! 🐬✨🤗
I can’t wait to get back to my deep water pool dancing. 💃🎧
These years of recovery have taken their toll. I’ve lost a lot of strength, muscle and overall conditioning- everything they warn against at my age. I’m fired up to get it back and the pool is a great place to start.
Who else is a water baby?
This smelled so good coming out of the oven that it attracted a crowd. I thought maybe they would just like to smell it from a bit closer but they had other ideas.
This was really tasty! Two thumbs, and several paws up!

We’re under a severe weather watch here in the California desert tonight!
After a lifetime in California, I’ve learned that the weather here can be fickle and unpredictable. Sometimes these storms hit hard, and other times they pass us by completely. But flash flooding is a real concern not only at the coast but here, even this far inland.
Meanwhile, it’s a muggy 76 degrees, the air conditioning is running, and somehow it still feels like the perfect night for homemade pumpkin chili and cornbread!
So we’re staying in, watching the skies, ready with our buckets and brooms and hoping for the best. 🤞🪣
Sending good thoughts to everyone already dealing with flooding and those in the path of these storms over the next 24 to 48 hours. Stay safe and dry!

The unexpected downside of finally cleaning out my Google Photos…
Yesterday I shared how good it felt to finally finish clearing out years of photos and digital clutter.
Apparently, my wrist did not share my enthusiasm.
All that clicking, scrolling, selecting and deleting left me with a very unhappy wrist, and now I’m in a brace giving my hand a forced vacation.
So yes, my Google Photos account is beautifully cleaned out.
But perhaps doing it all in one determined marathon was not my finest idea.
Consider this your reminder that digital decluttering apparently requires pacing too.😜

My work downloading and deleting 200GB of Google photos is done! Phew! 😮💨
So I took myself out of the house for lunch just for a change of scenery. I still have the icloud photos to do next but I’m feeling accomplished.
In the process I revisted old ideas, places & memories and an account idea I had started years ago to explore Joy. 🥰🌸
It’s been reignited, reimagined and already set up. Another creativity outlet to explore.
Stay tuned for more deets! 🧚🏻♀️
(if you’ve known me for a few years you might already be able to find it!) Tell me what you think if you do! 😜✨
