The celebration was wonderful. The flowers, the bubbly, the people who came to see me — I’m still smiling about it all. 🥂🤍

But you know me… I can celebrate wholeheartedly, and then it’s time to get back to work. 😉

I’m back in my chair at Annova PodoCare, ready to welcome new clients, explore new opportunities, and take on whatever challenges come next.

The first year was only the beginning. Let’s see what year two brings! ✨

20 years in the beauty industry. One second without protection. One painful lesson.

Please don’t tell me, “I’m so sorry.” I’m not sharing this for sympathy, and I am absolutely not sharing it to make any client feel uncomfortable or responsible. This was not my client’s fault.

During a service, a small nail clipping flew into my eye and injured it. In one second, a preventable accident cost me a week of work, medical treatment, antibiotics, steroid medication, pain, discomfort, and lost income.

I have worked in the beauty industry for 20 years. I am an educator. I teach safety protocols—and this time, for one brief moment, I did not follow the same rule I teach others.

My clients have always been my number-one priority. I do not cancel appointments unless I am facing a serious health situation or working would be unsafe for my clients or for me. Those who have known me for years understand that if I cancel, something serious has happened.

My doctor instructed me to stay out of work for seven days. I will follow the medical recommendations and return only when it is safe for me to do so. Protecting my health also allows me to provide the safe, focused, professional care my clients deserve.

My clients should never feel afraid, uncomfortable, or responsible because of this post. This is not about blaming anyone. It is about accountability, education, and protecting ourselves as professionals.

Experience does not make us immune to human error. Sometimes one small mistake can cost us our time, money, and health. This experience brought me back to reality and reminded me why safety rules are never optional—not even once.

To my students and fellow professionals: please learn from my experience. Wear protective eyewear when cutting, reducing, or working on nails. Stay focused. Follow the protocols you were taught, even when you have performed the same service thousands of times.
