Delta Air Lines celebrated the 25th anniversary of its Dream Flight program by giving more than 100 Black teenagers from Atlanta an unforgettable experience at NASA's Kennedy Space Center. Flying aboard a special Boeing 757 with an all Black flight crew, the students met aviation mentors, explored flight simulators, and connected with aerospace professionals who shared their own career journeys. The program continues to inspire the next generation by showing young people that careers in aviation and space are within their reach.

πŸ’™ What Happens After Surgery & Why Lymphatic Massage Matters
After surgery, your body naturally creates swelling as part of the healing process. This swelling can cause tightness, discomfort, stiffness, and fluid buildup.
Lymphatic drainage massage may help:
Reduce swelling and fluid retention
Support healthy circulation
Encourage lymphatic flow
Improve comfort during recovery
Help soften scar tissue and fibrosis when appropriate
Promote relaxation and overall healing
Always follow your surgeon's instructions and receive lymphatic massage only when your healthcare team has cleared you for treatment.
🏑 5 Steps to Start Decluttering
Start with one small area (a drawer or countertop).
Keep, donate, recycle, or throw away each item.
Set a 15-minute timer to avoid feeling overwhelmed.
Organize only what you truly use and love.
Finish one space before moving to another.
A clutter-free environment can help reduce stress and make it easier to focus on your wellness goals.
✨ Your health is an investment, not an expense.
Book your next session before you leave the office to secure your preferred appointment time.

🌿 Saturday Wellness Reminder 🌿
Don't Underestimate Dehydration πŸ’§
Water is one of the simplest ways to support your health, yet it's often overlooked.
When you're dehydrated, your blood becomes more concentrated, making it work harder to circulate throughout your body. This can contribute to sluggish circulation and may leave you feeling:
Headaches
Fatigue
Dizziness
Muscle cramps
Constipation
Low energy
Don't wait until you're thirstyβ€”that's often a sign you're already becoming dehydrated. Make it a habit to sip water consistently throughout the day, even during cooler weather.
Massage Tip: Staying well hydrated before and after your massage helps support healthy circulation and allows your body to recover more efficiently.
✨ Today's Wellness Challenge: Carry a reusable water bottle with you and aim to drink water regularly throughout the day. Your body will thank you!
Have a safe, healthy, and hydrated weekend!

Myofascial therapy focuses on releasing restrictions in the fasciaβ€”the connective tissue that surrounds your muscles, nerves, and organs. When fascia becomes tight from stress, injury, poor posture, or repetitive movement, it can contribute to pain and limited mobility.

Myofascial therapy may help:
Relieve chronic muscle tension
Improve flexibility and range of motion
Reduce neck, shoulder, and back pain
Ease headaches caused by muscle tightness
Improve posture and movement
Support recovery after exercise or injury

Tingling or numbness in your hands or feet
Muscle weakness
Brain fog or difficulty concentrating
Mood changes or irritability
Pale skin
A sore or swollen tongue
If these symptoms are ongoing, talk with your healthcare provider about whether testing is appropriate.

Thursday Wellness | Start Your Day Feeling Better with My Therapy by Michelle

Good morning and happy Thursday!

How you feel when you wake up says a lot about how your body is recovering. If you wake up feeling stiff in your hips, legs, knees, or calves, you're not alone! Whether you've been exercising, sitting for long hours, or simply dealing with everyday stress, your muscles need time, movement, and proper care to recover.

Why do you wake up stiff?

Morning stiffness can be caused by:

- Working out harder than usual
- Tight hips, glutes, hamstrings, or calves
- Sitting for long periods during the day
- Dehydration
- Not getting enough protein to help muscles repair
- Sleeping in one position all night

The good news? A few healthy habits can make a big difference.

Morning Movement Matters

Before jumping out of bed, try:
βœ”οΈ Pull each knee toward your chest.
βœ”οΈ Rotate your ankles 10–15 times.
βœ”οΈ Gently bend and straighten your knees.
βœ”οΈ Take a few deep breaths.

Once you're up:

- Walk for 5–10 minutes.
- Stretch your calves, hamstrings, hips, and glutes.
- Drink 16–20 ounces of water before reaching for coffee.

Did You Know?

Your calf muscles are often called your "second heart." Every step you take helps pump blood back toward your heart, improving circulation and reducing fatigue. If you sit most of the day, make it a goal to get up and move every hour.

Protein for Recovery

Help your muscles recover by eating 20–30 grams of protein after exercise.

Simple Meal Prep Idea:
πŸ— Grilled chicken with roasted sweet potatoes and broccoli, plus fresh fruit for dessert.

Hydration Recipe

Berry Citrus Refresher

- 16 oz water
- Fresh strawberries
- Lemon slices
- A few mint leaves

Let it chill for 30 minutes and enjoy throughout the day.

Wellness Reminder

Massage isn't just for relaxation. Regular therapeutic massage can help improve flexibility, decrease muscle tension, improve circulation, and support your body's recovery so you can continue moving with less discomfort.

If you've been waking up stiff or sore, don't ignore what your body is trying to tell you. Let's work together to help you move and feel your best.

πŸ“… Be sure to book your next appointment before leaving the office. Consistency is one of the best investments you can make in your health.

Affirmation of the Day:
"I honor my body by moving with intention, nourishing it with healthy choices, and giving it the care it deserves."

Thank you for trusting My Therapy by Michelle LLC with your wellness journey. I appreciate your continued support of my small business and look forward to helping you feel your very best.

Wellness Wednesday – Welcome to July! 🌿

Hello July! A new month is the perfect opportunity to recommit to your health, one small habit at a time. Your future self will thank you for the choices you make today.

πŸ’™ Did You Know? Your Calves Are Known as Your "Second Heart"

Your calf muscles help pump blood from your legs back to your heart. Every time you walk, stretch, or raise your heels, your calves support healthy circulation.

If you spend hours sitting at a desk, driving, or traveling, your calf muscles become less active, which may contribute to:

- Heavy or tired legs
- Swelling in the ankles and feet
- Muscle stiffness
- Poor circulation
- Sluggish blood flow

Today's challenge: Set a timer to stand up every 45–60 minutes. Walk for 2–5 minutes, stretch your calves, or do 20 heel raises. Your body will thank you!

πŸ’§ Hydration Recipe

Watermelon Lime Refresher

- 2 cups watermelon, cubed
- Juice of 1 lime
- Fresh mint leaves
- Ice
- Sparkling or still water

Mix together and enjoy a refreshing, hydrating drink that's perfect for summer.

πŸ₯— Healthy Meal Prep Lunch

Grilled Chicken & Quinoa Power Bowl

- Grilled chicken breast
- Quinoa
- Spinach
- Cucumber
- Cherry tomatoes
- Avocado
- Olive oil and lemon dressing

Packed with protein, healthy fats, and fiber to keep you energized throughout the day.

πŸ₯‘ Anti-Inflammatory Foods

Add more of these foods to your plate:

- Salmon and other fatty fish
- Blueberries
- Leafy greens
- Broccoli
- Avocados
- Walnuts
- Chia seeds
- Turmeric
- Ginger
- Extra virgin olive oil

Small daily choices can help reduce inflammation and support your overall health.

✨ July Wellness Reminder

- Drink more water.
- Move your body every day.
- Stretch often.
- Prioritize quality sleep.
- Book your massage before your schedule fills up.

Thank you for supporting My Therapy by Michelle LLC. Your wellness is always worth the investment, and I'm honored to be part of your journey.
