I’ve honestly taken this last week to sit on this and process it because it doesn’t seem real. Humbled doesn’t even begin to cover it. First finding out I made the TOP 5 felt unreal and now making it to the TOP 3 is absolutely WILD to me!!

I hate to even have to be “the bad guy” here and reiterate this, but I want to be transparent and fair to everyone. I have been very lenient with my cancellation policy in the past and unfortunately that leniency has been taken advantage of. Because of that, I do need to be firm moving forward.

My cancellation policy, which has been in place since I became an independent stylist and is outlined on my booking site, is as follows:

• Cancellations within 48 hours of your appointment will result in a 50% service charge.
• Cancellations within 24 hours, or no-call/no-shows, will be charged 100% of the service.

When an appointment is missed without notice, that time cannot be filled by another client who may have been waiting for availability. As an independent stylist, this directly impacts my income, as I rely solely on my booked schedule.

Everyone’s time is valuable. I respect your time, and I ask for that same respect in return. To put it into perspective…..when you book a plane ticket and don’t show up, the flight still leaves with an empty seat that could have gone to someone else and the airline retains that fare. My time works in a very similar way.

I completely understand that life happens and emergencies do come up and I’m always willing to work with you in those situations. However, in today’s day and age, we are all consistently on our phones and there is no reason not to send a quick message if something TRULY comes up. A simple text to communicate or reschedule goes a long way and it is expected and appreciated.

Please keep in mind that appointment reminders are sent when booking, as well as 72 hours and 24 hours prior, to help you stay on track.

Moving forward, I am asking for honesty, communication and respect for my time and my business. If you need to reschedule or are experiencing a true emergency, please reach out as soon as possible so I can work with you. Last-minute changes like impromptu trips do not qualify as emergencies.
