I grew up on Dolly Parton.
My grandparents loved her dearly, so her music has been woven into the soundtrack of my life for as long as I can remember. I come from a long line of musical people, and when I think of Dolly, I can’t help but think of my Granny. She had that same kind of spirit—warm, genuine, beautiful, and kind in a way that made people feel special.
I’ve always admired women like that. Women whose beauty had far less to do with how they looked and everything to do with how they made people feel.
Dolly was extraordinarily talented, but her greatest gift may have been her heart. She showed that you could be strong without being hard, successful without forgetting where you came from, and beautiful without ever making someone else feel small.
What a life. What a woman. What a legacy.
Some people leave behind songs. Some leave behind memories. And every once in a while, someone leaves the world a little kinder and more beautiful simply because they were in it.
That’s the kind of legacy I hope to leave, too. ❤️
