A Messy Mother's Day

In our decades together as a salon family, I've been with you through some of the best and worst times of your life. We have laughed, cried, cursed, and celebrated.

I've been with you through everything including miscarriages, infertility, burying spouses, siblings, parents, pets, and even your own children.

We've grieved and celebrated new beginnings and necessary endings. Marriage, divorce, and semi-reckless rendezvous....We've done it all, together.

Some of you have been a mom to me before and after I lost my own mother. You've been every kind of grandma my kid could ever ask for since she started at the salon around three years old. You are the tribe of sisters I have prayed for and I thank God for every single day with you.

You are authentic, raw, transparent, scarred, and uniquely gifted with a queenly wisdom you share with only a select few. Thank you for letting me in on it.

Thank you for loving me through awkward and painful seasons. Thank you for validating that it's okay to have a Messy or Unhappy Mother's Day while still having gratitude for the gift of motherhood and the lacing together of maternal women who are placed in our paths on purpose.

I love you all and cherish each of you.
