How do you make a statement color feel subtle and still bold at the same time?

For this client, Sophie found the answer in placement. Her curl pattern is tight through the crown and opens up as it falls, so starting the red at the mid-shaft let the brunette stay grounded up top while the color showed up right where her curls had room to hold it.
