Turn up the volume!
Imagine this sound magnified in the ears of either yourself or a client… It immediately puts the mind at ease, calming the nervous system. The physical massage via vibration that melts tight muscles and tension in combination with the sound has incredible benefits for both the skin, the entire body, and a racing, busy, stressed-out mind!
We’ve probably all heard about NAD+ but do you really know what it is? Do you really know what it does? The best way to find out is to actually try the product! I promise you won’t be disappointed. 🙏🏼🤍🌱 + +serum
Barrier-strong is my goal. Always.
If your barrier is not strong, it can be repaired and it must be repaired BEFORE using any active products, or you may have a reaction to that product.
In my case, the product itself was way too strong for me, and I knew this going in, but took up the challenge anyway because I know when to stop before things get overly damaged. I don’t know of too many people who could use a product with ascorbic acid, Azelaic acid, tranexamic acid, hydroquinone, kojic acid, and Tretinoin all in one single product! This is extreme in my opinion and would probably wreck havoc on anyone’s skin much less someone who has sensitive skin or rosacea.
.
That is not to say that someone cannot have an extreme reaction to even gentle products when their barrier is not healthy. there may be times when you can use a product and it works beautifully and then you can’t because your skin just says no. Why?⬇️
If you have been spending a lot of time in the sun, or not sleeping well, or not eating right, and under stress, all of these things affect your barrier. People tend to blame the skin care product immediately when sometimes it is simply a case of they need to repair the barrier (use heavier emollient products like Ceru Blue Balm) for a few weeks before they put anything acidic or active on it. This can happen with all products, including gentle ones.
Acidelic Micropolish - dual exfoliation and skin softening.
Sorry if I seem distracted - blame it on the forks 😂
Bio-mimetic - these tiny little amino acids are like mimes. You know, the ones that wear the striped shirts and copy your every move? They mimic our own skins cells to visibly plump and firm the skin by storing up that under layer of juciness😉🤍💋
If you have mature skin like me, you will fully understand how our skin loses collagen as we age…and at a rather alarming rate. Then throw menopause on top of it, and you might start to feel like your head is shrinking.
This is prevention. This is putting back what nature takes away as we age.
Have we lost all sense of realism in beauty or is this just where we are in general right now?
I feel like it’s gotten particularly bad over the last year or so. My feed feels like a massage competition. Fancy hands. No substance.
I keep seeing men (therapists) standing over women on a massage table with their hands in the woman’s mouth and she’s crying crocodile tears from the “release.” IMO this should never be used as a marketing ploy to get people to come to your classes. Not only does it feel super misogynist, but it’s just in bad taste.
Then we have the continual claims made by skin care brands trying to talk their products to you. That one is a constant stream of manipulation targeting women’s insecurities. Because I have my hands in the actual chemicals, used in skin care all the time, and source them myself, I know what is real and what is probably BS. I’m making you can’t put 50 peptides in an essence and claim that they are all working. I call bu****it.
The only way that this will end is when consumers and aestheticians stop paying attention to it and start wanting realism in their feed.
As an Esthetician, I feel that reality starts with us. Whatever small impact you may have is worth the effort. A realistic / science driven view on skin and what is possible with the treatments that we provide is what we should be selling, not magic.
