October is domestic violence awareness month.💜

I’ll be sharing stories of some of our fallen soldiers who did not survive their abusers.

It’s important to remember them and the life they lived - not the man who k*lled them.

I was suffering emotional abuse for 15 years before I was set on fire. Until recently, I had no idea that I had been abused.

Manipulation is abuse. Gaslighting is abuse. Controlling the money and not giving you any is abuse. The way they make you feel is abuse.

It can easily turn physical, like it did for me.

I need your help to help my friend Mandi Budd🙏🏽

I know a lot of my Face Forward, Inc. family already knows her because she’s helped all of us be where we are today.

If you don’t know her, she’s the person who gave me a second chance at life by bringing me to Los Angeles for reconstructive surgery. She’s done that for many people over the past decade.

She’s now suffered a case of West Nile virus that left her in the hospital for the past week. We’re not sure how much longer she’ll be there, but she does also need rehabilitation.

Unfortunately, she’s in between Insurance plans.

It’s devastating when this happens. Unfortunately, it’s not unusual in the U.S. I was uninsured when I was burned, but pulled through thanks to a group of people who really wanted to help me.
