Part-Time

Summer Hours Salon is looking for a licensed cosmetologist to join our team in a hybrid Assistant + Front of House role.

This position is ideal for someone early in their career who wants hands-on salon experience, continued education and the opportunity to grow into a stylist at Summer Hours.

The role will begin part-time, balancing front-of-house responsibilities with hands-on assisting alongside our stylists. For the right person, there is a clear opportunity to grow from this position into a full-time Assistant, Stylist Associate and eventually a Stylist at Summer Hours.

THE ROLE
This is a hands-on position that supports both our guests and our stylists. Responsibilities will include:

Welcoming clients and managing the front desk
Answering phones, texts, and client inquiries
Scheduling and managing appointments
Checking clients in and out
Supporting the overall flow of the salon
Assisting stylists during appointments
Shampooing and conditioning
Preparing clients and stations for services
Assisting with blow dries and styling as skills progress
Maintaining clean, organized stations, shampoo areas and shared spaces
Laundry, restocking and general salon upkeep
Helping create a warm, professional and elevated client experience

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Candidates must have a current cosmetology license.

The ideal candidate is:

Interested in building a long-term career as a hairstylist
Excited to learn through hands-on experience
Warm, friendly, and confident interacting with clients
Professional and dependable
Organized and able to multitask in a busy salon environment
Comfortable taking direction and working alongside multiple stylists
Proactive and willing to jump in wherever support is needed
Passionate about hair, education, and continued growth
A team player who values a collaborative salon environment

POSITION DETAILS
Part-Time
Cosmetology license required
In-person at Summer Hours Salon in Los Angeles
Must be available Fridays & Saturdays

Availability will include a combination of front desk coverage and hands-on assisting shifts.
