Our first story features Carole from Gainesville ( Senior Living).

Carole had always wanted to experience virtual reality. With a little guidance from her Tech Concierge, Fink, she stepped into the streets of Paris, revisited memories, and discovered that it's never too late to try something new.

These are the moments that remind us technology is about so much more than devices. It's about opening doors to new experiences and helping older adults discover what's possible.

Taking a late summer road trip or flying to visit family this August? If you've ever noticed your phone battery draining super fast on the highway, it’s because your phone is working overtime trying to find a cell signal! The Tech Trick: Turn on Airplane Mode.

By tapping the little airplane icon in your phone's settings, you temporarily turn off the phone's ability to make calls or connect to the internet. Because your phone isn't searching for a signal anymore, your battery will last significantly longer! It is the perfect trick for long drives through the countryside, flights, or when you just want to read a downloaded eBook in peace.

Today, we can stream our favorite albums from start to finish without a single skip or pause. But if you owned an 8-Track Tape Player, you knew the true test of musical patience!

Because of how the tape was wound, the player would often have to switch tracks right in the exact middle of your favorite song. The music would suddenly fade out... you’d hear a massive mechanical KA-CHUNK!... and then the song would awkwardly fade back in. And heaven forbid your car's tape deck decided to eat the tape and spool it all over the passenger seat! 📼

If your phone or tablet is running frustratingly slow today, taking forever to open an app or freezing up it might just be full storage. Just like a closet stuffed to the brim, when your device's storage is completely full, it struggles to function properly.

Here is your tech task:
1️⃣ Open your Settings app.
2️⃣ Tap on Storage (or "General" then "Storage").
3️⃣ Take a look at what is taking up the most space!
What to throw out: Delete apps you haven't opened in months, long videos taking up massive amounts of space, and old text message threads you no longer need.

With a background in IT support, CompTIA A+ certification, and a passion for solving technology challenges, Easton loves helping people feel more confident with the devices they use every day. He's also currently working toward his Security+ certification because, for him, learning never stops.
When he's not helping residents, you'll probably find him building PCs, gaming, or tinkering with cars.

It's Friday afternoon, which means most clinic phone lines are shutting down until Monday morning. But what if you suddenly remember you need a medication refill? If you are signed up for your clinic's Secure Patient Website, you don't have to wait until Monday to ask!

These secure portals allow you to log in on a Saturday or Sunday, click "Request Refill," or type a quick question to your doctor's team. They will see it first thing Monday morning, and you don't have to worry about forgetting.

Today, buying groceries or checking out at a store is as easy as tapping your smartphone or hovering a chip card over a quiet little screen. Beep! But remember what paying with a credit card used to sound like?

Out came the manual imprinter machine (often called the "Knuckle Buster"!). The cashier would lay your card down, put a piece of layered carbon paper over it, and aggressively slide that heavy handle back and forth. KA-CHUNK, KA-CHUNK! Then, you had to wait while they physically looked up your card number in a giant booklet of stolen/expired cards!
