Today, after an hour-long Reset session, I asked my client how she felt.

She smiled and answered with one word: “Magical.” ✨

That one word stayed with me.

I created these sessions to give women a space to pause, let go for a little while, and simply receive some care. Hearing her describe her experience that way meant so much to me.

Feeling grateful today—for her trust, and for the opportunity to create these moments here at Altered Angles. 💛

🍂 **Changing Seasons… Changing Scalp?**

As the temperatures begin to drop, you might start noticing some changes in your hair and scalp.

One of those changes? FLAKES!

But did you know that a flaky scalp doesn't necessarily mean a dry scalp?

That's right! Not all flakes are created equal!

🍁 **Dry Scalp:** Cooler air and indoor heating can contribute to dryness, sometimes causing small flakes, itching, or tightness.

🫧 **Dandruff:** Often associated with an oily scalp and a naturally occurring yeast called Malassezia.

🌿 **Irritation:** Certain shampoos, styling products, or sensitivities can cause irritation and flaking.

So, what should you do?

✨ Avoid washing with excessively hot water.
✨ Choose a shampoo suited to your scalp's needs.
✨ Don't automatically reach for heavy oils or moisturizing treatments.
✨ Pay attention to changes in itching, redness, or flaking.
✨ If symptoms persist or worsen, consult a dermatologist.

Here's something I want you to remember...

**Your scalp is skin, too!**

And understanding what's happening beneath your hair is an important part of taking care of it.

Have you noticed your scalp changing with the seasons?

✨ **Sunday Reflections | The Extraordinary in the Ordinary**

Sometimes the most extraordinary beauty is found in the most ordinary things.

I was looking at a drink when something caught my eye. The bubbles.

Not the drink itself, but those tiny, beautiful bubbles.

The different shapes, the shades of pink, the way the light danced across each one. I couldn't help but take a closer look.

And the closer I looked, the more beautiful they became.

It made me think about how much beauty surrounds us every single day that we never really notice.

We're often so busy looking at the bigger picture that we miss the little things right in front of us.

And sometimes, those little things are only there for a moment.

The bubbles eventually disappear. But for that brief moment, they were extraordinary.

Maybe beauty isn't always something we need to go searching for.

**Maybe we just need to slow down long enough to see what's already there.**

The extraordinary is often hiding in the ordinary, waiting for someone to notice. ❤️

Be honest… 😂

Does doing your own hair ever feel a little bit like THIS?

Blow dryer in one hand. Brush in the other. Hair going everywhere. Arms getting tired. And somehow it STILL doesn’t look like it did when you left the salon. 🤦‍♀️😂

What if someone actually showed you how to work with **YOUR hair**, using the tools you already have at home?

👀 Something new is coming to Altered Angles this November.

And I’m keeping this one SMALL.

**Only 4 spots.**

More soon. ❤️

🍂 Sunday Reflection

We are all in transition.

Sometimes it’s messy. Sometimes it’s chaotic. Sometimes it’s beautiful. And most of the time, it’s simply organic.

Look closely at this wall.

Some of the leaves are small and just beginning. Some are large and full. Some are brilliant with color. Some have started to fade. And some have already reached the end of their season.

Just like us.

Some of us are just starting out. Some are right in the middle of life. Some are changing direction. Some are approaching the later seasons of their lives.

All different. All in transition.

But then I noticed something else.

Those tiny vines.

They twist and travel behind everything, connecting one part to another. Some are easy to see. Others almost disappear into the wall.

And looking at them, I finally understood something I’ve heard so many times:

We are all connected. Somehow.

We may not always see the connection. We may not understand it. But maybe, just like those tiny vines, there is something running between all of us.

Different lives. Different seasons. Different places along the way.

But connected. ❤️

Did you know **fine hair and thin hair aren’t the same thing?** ✂️

I hear clients use these words interchangeably all the time, but they actually describe two completely different things.

**Fine hair** refers to the thickness (diameter) of each individual strand.

**Thin hair** refers to density — how many individual hairs you have on your head.

That means you can have very fine hair and still have a TON of it! And you can have thicker, coarser strands but fewer of them.

Why does this matter? Because understanding what type of hair you actually have helps us make better choices when it comes to your **haircut, products, styling techniques and even your color.**

Sometimes it’s not about wishing you had different hair — it’s about learning how to work with the hair you have. ❤️

Sunday Reflection 🤍

I took this photograph and found myself thinking about something so simple.

This sheep is just being a sheep.

It doesn't know how beautiful it is.
It doesn't wonder what anyone else thinks of it.
It doesn't question why it's here or what it's supposed to be doing.

It isn't worried about tomorrow.

It's just here.

Living its life. Standing in the straw with a little piece of greenery caught in its wool, completely unaware that someone might stop and see something beautiful in it.

And maybe there's something we can learn from that.

We spend so much of our lives wondering if we're doing enough, if we're where we're supposed to be, what other people see when they look at us, or what our purpose is supposed to be.

Meanwhile, sometimes life is simply happening.

Maybe we don't have to understand everything about why we're here to appreciate being here.

Maybe today can just be today.

And maybe, every once in a while, we can stop trying so hard to figure out life...

and just live it. 🤍

Gray hair doesn’t mean you have to stop having fun with your color. 💜

In fact, it can become part of the fun.

Instead of covering up her beautiful silver, we embraced it — and added this vibrant violet underneath for something completely unexpected.

When her hair is lifted, you can see just how bold that purple really is. Once her hair falls naturally, it becomes softer, with flashes of violet peeking through her silver.

And THAT is what I love about hair color.

Going gray doesn’t mean giving up color. It can mean finding a whole new way to play with it. 💜✂️

Keep the silver. Add the purple. Have some fun.

Would you ever add a fun color to your gray?

Sunday Reflection ✨

Sometimes beauty isn’t hiding. We just haven’t stopped long enough to notice it.

Photography has always been another creative part of who I am, and one of the things I love most about being behind the camera is that it makes me slow down and really look.

I photographed this little flower knowing that most of us would probably look at it and simply call it a w**d.

But through my camera, I got closer.

I saw the tiny flowers, the delicate stems, the symmetry, and the way the light caught every little detail. Something that could so easily be overlooked suddenly became something I wanted to photograph.

And it made me think about how often we do that in life.

How quickly do we decide something is ordinary, unwanted, imperfect, or not worth our attention because of the label we’ve given it?

Maybe there are beautiful things all around us that we’ve simply stopped noticing.

Sometimes changing what we see doesn’t require changing what’s in front of us.

Sometimes we just need to look from another angle. 🤍

✨ Would you be interested in something like this? ✨

I’m thinking about putting together a small, hands-on styling workshop at Altered Angles Hair Studio — just 4 spots so I can give everyone individual attention.

The idea is simple: bring the styling tools you already have at home — your blow dryer, brushes, curling iron, flat iron, etc. — and I’ll help you learn how to use them on YOUR own hair.

We can work on things like:
• Creating volume
• Smoothing and controlling your hair
• Curls and waves
• Using the right brush
• Getting more out of the tools you already own
• Simple styling techniques you can actually recreate at home

This wouldn’t be about me styling your hair for you. It would be about teaching YOU how to work with your own hair and giving you some tips and tricks along the way. 💙

I’m just checking interest right now before I put all the details together.

Would you be interested in a workshop like this?
