Box Braids > Knotless for the health of the hairline β¨ Sometimes the old school methods save the day.
Because Knotless braids begin with the natural hair, we decided to install a box braid to reduce tension on the perimeter. Knotless braids require the area to be split into 3 to start a braid. This is too much tension for a low density area. Box braids give you the option to start the braid by splitting it into two or keeping the section as a whole and starting the braid with the addition of hair at the root. Keeping it lightweight and starting the knot small help with not putting too much weight on this area.
