My mom would have loved my new home. I can smell the lilacs from the kitchen window and see the bleeding hearts. And when I sit on my patio I smell the faintest perfumed scent of the lily of the valley. There is so much heartache and justified anger in the world right now. The beauty of these blooms is a very welcome and buoyantly joyful salve.
