Whilst I understand the want to use natural, trendy things—especially more natural products or products with one ingredient—let me tell you why a lot of estheticians and medical professionals are against it.
Higher risk for acne
Tallow contains a very high concentration of oleic acid, which yes, can be moisturizing, but it can also be problematic especially for sensitive or acne-prone skin. It can contribute to trapping oil, dead skin cells and bacteria on the surface of the skin.
Tallow is also very occlusive, meaning it basically creates a blanket over the skin. And if you're acne-prone, that’s not necessarily what we want.
Tallow isn't literally “food” for C. acnes 😏, but creating an overly occlusive environment can contribute to the conditions that make breakouts more likely.
And don't even get me started on whether it’s grass-fed vs. grain-fed cows. 😂

Controlled damage is kind of the whole point. 😂

Chemical peels, microneedling, and certain skin lesion destruction intentionally create a controlled injury to the skin so we can trigger the body’s natural healing response.

So yes… I’m technically causing damage all day. 😂
But controlled damage with a purpose…because sometimes beauty really is pain.

But seriously, “paramedical esthetician” isn’t a separate license in Florida. We’re all licensed under the same Facial Specialist license.
The difference is the additional education and medical-focused training behind what some estheticians choose to pursue.
I completed a 11 month, medical-based program, compared to a traditional 3-month program.
So no, my license doesn’t say “paramedical esthetician.” 🤷‍♀️
My education, experience, and the way I approach the skin absolutely does. 🧴🩺✨
And yes… I’m still waiting for Netflix to call. 😂
