✨ From SAHM to DOCTOR & BUSINESS OWNER ✨

Every once in a while, I have to stop and really take in how far I’ve come.

There was a time when my biggest job title was SAHM—raising my kids, taking care of my family, and putting so much of myself on hold. ❤️

And today… I’m Dr. Kristina Chrapkova, DC.
I own and run my own chiropractic practice.
I built a business that is thriving.
I get to walk into my own office every day and help people feel better, move better, and get back to living their lives.

And honestly? I’m damn proud of myself. 🥹❤️

Not because everything has been easy. It hasn’t.

There were years of school, sacrifices, self-doubt, late nights, financial risks, mom guilt, and plenty of moments where I wondered if I was crazy for trying to build something of my own.

But I kept going.

I became the woman who stopped waiting for the “right time” and decided to create her own opportunity.

And this latest 5-star review hit me differently.

When a patient tells me that after surgery and an injury they’re finally feeling more like themselves again… and that they’ll be a patient for life—that’s the kind of success you can’t put a dollar amount on. ❤️

I’m proud of the doctor I became.
I’m proud of the businesswoman I became.
I’m proud of the mother I am.
And I’m especially proud of the woman who decided she was capable of becoming more.

From SAHM → student → Doctor → practice owner → thriving businesswoman.

And I’m nowhere near finished. 🔥

If you’re a woman who has put your dreams on hold for your family, this is your reminder: it’s never too late to build something that’s yours.

Keep going.
Keep believing.
Keep becoming.

Your next chapter might be your best one yet. ❤️

This one truly means so much. ❤️

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I’m incredibly grateful for patients like Ann and her husband who continue to trust me with their care and allow me to be part of their wellness journey. Hearing that they feel confident in their care, notice the attention I put into staying current, and are enjoying the benefits of everything I offer in the office means more than I can say.

And I’m so happy they’ve had such a great experience with Michelle, too! 🥰 It’s exciting to see my little practice grow and be able to offer even more ways to help our patients feel their best.

The fact that they’ve also referred friends and neighbors who have become regular patients is the biggest compliment of all. ❤️

Thank you, Ann, for your incredibly kind words, your trust, and for helping spread the word about our little corner of Marietta!

🔥 BURNING. TINGLING. NUMBNESS. PINS & NEEDLES.
If your hands or feet constantly feel like they’re on fire, falling asleep, or being shocked… don’t ignore it. ⚡️

🧠 Peripheral neuropathy occurs when nerves outside the brain and spinal cord become damaged or irritated. When those nerves aren’t communicating properly, you may experience:

⚡️ Burning or shooting pain
🪡 Pins-and-needles or tingling
😣 Numbness or reduced sensation
💥 Sharp, stabbing sensations
💪 Muscle weakness
🤕 Increased sensitivity to touch

These symptoms can make everyday activities—walking, exercising, sleeping, or even wearing certain shoes—uncomfortable.

There are MANY potential causes of peripheral neuropathy, including metabolic conditions, nutritional deficiencies, certain medications, injuries, and other underlying health issues.

👉 The important part? Don’t simply learn to live with the discomfort. Understanding WHY your nerves are irritated or damaged is an important first step toward getting the right care.

At Heal Better Feel Better Family Chiropractic, I take a whole-body approach to your health and can help evaluate whether your spine, nervous system, or musculoskeletal system may be contributing to your symptoms—and help guide you toward appropriate care when additional evaluation is needed. ❤️

🚨 THAT BURNING PAIN IN YOUR LOW BACK & BUTT MAY NOT BE A HERNIATED DISC! 🚨

🔥 Sharp. Stinging. Burning. Right around your SI joint and middle glute?

If sitting, bending forward, getting up from a chair, or even rolling over in bed makes that spot light up, there may be more going on than a “bad disc.”

One possible culprit? Middle Cluneal Nerve Entrapment (MCNE).

These small sensory nerves travel from the sacral region across the SI joint. When irritated or compressed—sometimes by the surrounding ligaments, prolonged sitting, pelvic stress, or repetitive movement—they can create very localized burning or aching pain across the middle of the buttock.

🚩 Some common clues include:
• Burning or aching directly over the SI joint
• Pain spreading across the middle of the buttock
• Significant tenderness when pressing over the sacrum/SI region
• Pain that increases when standing from sitting
• Symptoms aggravated by bending, twisting, or turning in bed

⚠️ And here’s the important part: not all buttock or low-back pain comes from a herniated disc. There can be several different sources of pain, which is why identifying the pattern matters.

🚨 SHOULDER PAIN + ARM TINGLING? THE PROBLEM MAY NOT BE IN YOUR SHOULDER! 🚨

If you’ve injured your shoulder and are also experiencing numbness, tingling, weakness, or pain traveling down your arm, there may be more happening than a simple shoulder issue. 👀

🧠 Your nerves have a pathway.
Nerves leaving the cervical spine travel through a network called the brachial plexus before continuing into the shoulder, arm, and hand.

When the neck or surrounding joints and tissues become irritated or restricted, it can affect how those nerves function. Things such as inflammation, disc-related changes, joint restrictions, or muscle tension may contribute to symptoms that travel beyond the original area of discomfort. ⚡

That’s why a problem involving the neck or upper spine can sometimes feel like:
➡️ Shoulder pain
➡️ Burning or tingling
➡️ Arm numbness
➡️ Weakness or heaviness
➡️ Pain that travels down the arm
➡️ Reduced range of motion

👐 This is where chiropractic care can play an important role.

Your shoulder may be where you FEEL the problem—but it isn't always where the problem STARTS. 👀

5 Tips to Calm Sciatica Pain While You Sleep

1. Some sleep positions increase pressure on the sciatic nerve

Your ideal sleep position depends on your specific condition. Herniated discs and spinal stenosis may respond differently to positions such as stomach sleeping, the fetal position, or reclining.

2. Increased inflammation during the night

Pro-inflammatory cytokines may rise during rest while anti-inflammatory ones decrease. An anti-inflammatory diet, evening medications or supplements, and topical creams may help manage nighttime flare-ups.

3. Increased stiffness and lack of movement

Hours of immobility can allow muscles to tighten around the sciatic nerve. Gentle stretching before bed and upon waking may help restore circulation and mobility.

4. Muscle imbalances and posture problems

Tight piriformis or hip-flexor muscles can affect pelvic positioning and potentially contribute to nerve irritation. Strengthening weak muscles and increasing daytime movement can help restore balance.

5. Increased nerve sensitivity at rest

Without daytime distractions, your brain may amplify pain signals at night. Deep breathing, progressive muscle relaxation, a calming bedtime routine, and gentle nerve-flossing techniques may help reduce sensitivity.

🚨 YOUR NECK WAS DESIGNED TO MOVE — BUT IT WASN’T DESIGNED FOR CONSTANT STRAIN! 🚨

Your cervical spine does a LOT every day. Looking down at your phone 📱, working at a computer 💻, driving 🚗, looking up, turning your head… your neck is constantly moving and adapting.

And there’s something else that matters: your cervical curve. 🦴

🟣 WHY IS THE CERVICAL CURVE IMPORTANT?

Your neck naturally has a gentle forward curve called cervical lordosis. This curve helps your cervical spine:

✅ Distribute and absorb mechanical stress
✅ Support the weight of your head
✅ Allow smoother movement
✅ Maintain proper spinal alignment
✅ Reduce unnecessary strain on muscles, joints & discs

When posture and repetitive stress alter how your neck moves, the surrounding muscles and joints may have to work harder to keep your head supported.

📱 LOOKING DOWN = FLEXION

Texting, reading and computer work can keep your neck in a prolonged forward position.

👀 LOOKING UP = EXTENSION

Looking overhead or reaching upward moves the cervical spine in the opposite direction.

🔄 ROTATION

Turning your head while driving, checking your blind spot or looking around also requires coordinated movement between the cervical joints.

When the cervical spine isn't moving well, you may notice:

🔸 Neck stiffness
🔸 Headaches
🔸 Shoulder tension
🔸 Reduced range of motion
🔸 Upper-back discomfort
🔸 Muscle fatigue
🔸 Pain or symptoms extending into the arm

👐 WHERE CAN CHIROPRACTIC CARE HELP?

Chiropractic care focuses on improving spinal joint mobility, alignment, and overall movement. Appropriate chiropractic adjustments and soft-tissue techniques may help improve cervical mobility, decrease muscle tension, and help your body move more efficiently.

At Heal Better Feel Better Family Chiropractic, I look at more than just where it hurts. I evaluate how your neck, spine, posture and surrounding muscles are working together.

Because the goal isn't simply to make your neck feel better for a day…

👉 It's to help you move better and take better care of your spine long-term.

🚨 DO YOU LEAN FORWARD TO GET RELIEF FROM BACK OR LEG PAIN? 🚨

If you notice that leaning on a shopping cart, counter, or walker makes standing or walking feel dramatically easier, your body may be giving you an important clue. 👀

One possible reason is lumbar spinal stenosis—a narrowing around the spinal canal or nerve pathways that can place pressure on the nerves. When the low back is flexed forward, the available space can increase for some people, temporarily reducing symptoms. 🦴⚡

And when spinal stenosis occurs alongside spondylolisthesis—where one vertebra shifts relative to another—the combination can make standing and walking especially uncomfortable.

Common complaints can include: 🔹 Low back pain or pressure
🔹 Buttock or leg pain
🔹 Numbness or tingling
🔹 Leg heaviness or weakness with walking
🔹 Symptoms that improve when sitting or bending forward

👉 Your pain pattern matters. It can provide valuable information about what may be contributing to your symptoms.

At Heal Better Feel Better Family Chiropractic, I look at the bigger picture—not just where it hurts. My goal is to understand how your spine, joints, muscles, posture, and movement are working together and develop an appropriate care plan for you. ❤️
