And this is why I will always speak about what happens behind the cute décor and free drinks.
Those things are nice, but they do not tell you how the reusable metal tools touching your skin are being processed.
Texas allows nail salons to use different approved methods for metal implements. At our salon, we choose to sterilize our reusable metal tools in an autoclave because your safety is worth the additional step.
We are working around your skin with nippers, clippers, pushers, and other sharp implements. Even with the most careful nail tech, small accidents can happen.
You deserve to know whether your salon sterilizes its tools or only disinfects or sanitizes them. Asking questions about cleanliness does not make you difficult. It makes you informed.
Real luxury is not wondering whether the tools touching your skin are safe.

🙈 had to!
I know, I know…
There are so many talented nail techs doing beautiful, honest work.
I’ve personally worked with and know amazing nail techs who were part of my team and now own suites, run salons, care about sanitation, and genuinely want the best for their clients. I know for a fact that good and honest nail professionals are out there.
But I also know there are places rushing services, ignoring concerns, damaging nails, and sending clients home without explaining what went wrong. And good nail techs get thrown in the same category.
That is what I’m speaking up about.
I’m not bullying other salons, and I’m not saying every walk-in salon or independent nail tech is bad. The nail world has a bit of both good and bad techs.
I’m advocating for the client who keeps spending money on nails that lift, break, or leave her natural nails damaged, yet nobody takes the time to explain why.
I’m sharing what I would want someone to tell me if I were sitting in the client’s chair.
Because you as a client deserve honesty, transparency, proper education, and the ability to recognize when something is not right.
Even if you never book with me, I still want you to know what to look for.
That will always be the purpose behind my content.
Tired of being blamed for bad nail work? You might have been given the wrong nail product. Comment QUIZ to know which product fits you best.
To each salon/nail tech their own but my hot take is: including an extra services does not always mean better.
A Russian manicure is a detailed service meant for clients who have excess dead skin, buildup, overgrown cuticles, or lifting caused by skin remaining on the nail plate.
But if your cuticle area is already clean and healthy, doing more work than necessary can create irritation instead of better results.
That’s why we assess your nails first.
If a basic cuticle cleanup is enough, that is what we do. If your nails need more detailed cleaning to help prevent lifting, we explain why and recommend the Russian manicure add-on.
We are not here to charge every client for the same service.
We are here to recommend what your nails actually need, because honest nail care should never be one-size-fits-all.

And this is why choosing a nail product based on what is “healthiest” is the wrong question.
Acrylic is not the villain. Gel is not automatically safer. And “organic dip powder” is still not a thing.
What matters is whether the product fits your nail type, length, lifestyle, and goals, plus how safely it is applied and removed.
The right product in careless hands can still cause damage. The right product, proper prep, good structure, and safe removal are what make the difference.

Now, that doesn’t mean the entire warranty is void.
We will still honor chips and breaks within the warranty period.
The only thing we cannot cover is lifting when the Russian manicure was recommended and declined, because the proper prep needed to prevent that lifting was not completed.
We will always stand behind our work, but we also need you to follow the recommendations designed to help your nails last 🩷
And this is why two appointments do not always tell the whole story.
Finding the right product is only the first step. After that, we have to watch how your nails respond, where they lift, where they break, and what needs to be adjusted.
Your nail growth journey is not about finding a “perfect” salon overnight. It is about finding a nail tech who pays attention, tracks the patterns, and is willing to pivot with you.

Cute nails are easy to find.
Nails that actually make sense for your life? That’s where the real art is.
Because if your hands are always busy, your product needs to be more than pretty.
It needs to match your lifestyle.
