So many of us have been told that rice belongs on the “avoid” list when we’re trying to lose weight or manage our blood sugar. But there’s a simple trick that can make a difference!

If you’re planning to enjoy rice with your meal, cook it, let it cool, and store it in the refrigerator for at least 12 hours. When you’re ready to eat, simply reheat and enjoy.

Cooling the rice changes some of its starch into resistant starch, which acts more like fiber in your body. That means it may help reduce the blood sugar spike after eating and support a healthier insulin response.

Small changes like this can add up over time. And the best part? You don’t have to give up the foods you enjoy…you just learn how to make them work a little better for your body.

This has always been my favorite Scripture, and if I had a personal mantra, this would be it.

Life has a way of challenging all of us. No one is immune to hardships…they just come in different packages. This verse reminds me that I was never meant to carry those burdens on my own.

As I begin this week, I’m choosing to lean into God’s strength for peace, purpose, and direction, trusting that He will carry me through whatever lies ahead.

Here’s to a new week of trusting His plan, finding strength in His promises, and remembering that every season is temporary. 🤍🙏🏼

Father’s Day Breakfast was indulgent, but still intentional 🤍

French toast doesn’t have to be “off limits”, but it does matter how you pair it.

When you combine higher-carb or sweeter foods with protein and healthy fats, you help: Slow down sugar absorption, reduce blood sugar spikes + crashes, stay fuller longer and decrease cravings later in the day.

Here’s how I built balance into this plate 👇🏼

✨ French Toast (Sourdough + Protein Boost) Sourdough: easier to digest + lower glycemic impact than traditional bread. Eggs + cottage cheese: add protein to help stabilize blood sugar. Cinnamon: supports blood sugar control.

✨ Scrambled Eggs + Cottage Cheese + Cheddar = High-quality protein to keep you full and support muscle health. Cottage cheese: adds creaminess + extra protein and make your eggs fluffy!
