There are many things I wouldn’t do as an esthetician, but here are some of the major ones! ✨đź¤
1. We do not skip SPF! 🧴 You guys know how important this is. Your skin is your largest organ, so we have to take extra care of it no matter the weather. UV rays can still reach your skin on cloudy days, and daily SPF helps protect against sun damage, premature aging, and hyperpigmentation.
2. Makeup comes off! Always, always, always remove your makeup before bed. We do not want to sleep in it! Makeup, oil, sweat, and bacteria can build up on your skin, clog your pores, and lead to breakouts and irritation. 🦠Also, make sure you’re sleeping on a clean pillowcase because dirt, oil, hair products, and leftover skincare can transfer onto your skin while you sleep.
3. Okay, sometimes this one is hard, but we have to try our best not to touch our faces. 🫣 Our fingers carry oil, dirt, bacteria, and whatever else we’ve touched throughout the day. Touching your face can transfer all of that onto your skin, clog your pores, and cause more irritation or breakouts. Try to be mindful of how often you’re touching your face!
4. We shouldn’t be picking at every pimple. I know it’s tempting, but picking can cause inflammation, scarring, dark marks, and even more breakouts. It can also spread bacteria and make the healing process take longer. Instead, keep the area clean, use a gentle spot treatment, and let your skin heal.🤍
These are just a few things I don’t do as an esthetician, and you shouldn’t either! Let me help you reach your skin goals. The more tips and tricks, the better! 🤗
