Cool Apprentices + Cool Haircuts = A Must

Technical Haircutting, or “precision haircutting” is something too many people misunderstand what it actually is. Precision cutting is a method and approach to cut hair, not an aesthetic meaning “a look”. All technical cutting means is a methodical approach rooted on fundamental knowledge to create the form we want to see in hair. The look could be sleek, strong, structured. Or it could be soft, shattered and diffused almost razor looking. But it can all be done through technical precision cutting. The huge misunderstanding is that the “basics” is what beginners do and then later you learn “advanced cutting techniques”. And the truth is that there is no such thing as “advanced cutting techniques”. There is only fancy looking performative scissors slinging. The “basics” IS the mastery of haircutting. True masters of any craft never have to “go back to the basics” because they never abandoned them. They utilize the fundamental understanding of the basics for intricacy in their work. Advanced or Creative hair cutting is a “design” aspect, not a way to cut her off. True creative or advanced haircutting is nothing more than fundamental basic techniques mixed together to create the “design” of that advanced or creative look. So a true understanding of “technical haircutting”, and what it actually means, is vital to anyone that wants to be artisticly creative in their work. That is the “skill” that will empower the “creativity”… anything less is just winging it.
