This is EXACTLY how it feels to be a small business owner in the world today. All I want to do is sell soap that turns your shower into a safe space. For five, ten, maybe even 15 minutes, you can feel serene, dare I say JOYFUL! But, selling happiness right now almost feels outright stupid.

Of course an awesome bar of soap doesn't fix a s**t world. But, it CAN bring a little bit of peace to YOURS. And trust me, if I find a way put out this dumpster fire we're all enduring, I'll give that information out for free!

Real talk, this batch of Forests Of The Desert made me realize how much I'd lost my way. How much of my joy in soapmaking was actually gone.

The truth is, I'd gotten way too caught up in building a business and trying not to disappoint a whole new world of people. Learning techniques and getting excited about designs slowly took a backseat.

Finding my gift as a soapmaker brought me joy when I wasn't sure joy would ever be possible again. That's what I ultimately wanted to share with the world. But, then it turned into productivity, life balance, and burnout.

For some reason, I decided to take my time this go round. Rewatched a tutorial video for the thousandth time and made soap with confidence and a light heart. And for the first time in a long time, I felt really proud when I cut into the loaf!

That's the giddy excitement that I actually try to offer, not so much the bar itself. I'm not just selling a good clean, but a good time. A chance to lighten your heart during time dedicated to just YOU.

I really hope that no matter which of my products you use, it helps you slow down and take the time to appreciate yourself and all you have to offer.

On this third anniversary of the first C R.O.W.N. Act legislation being signed into law in California, it is still not the "law of the land." There are still places in this country where there's not any protection from hair discrimination.

Black Americans all over this nation are made to feel as though we need to hide, straighten, and harm our hair to avoid being excluded. Even children aren't immune.

More and more of us are saying "no thanks" and I love that for us! More and more products are being made for us, and I am very proud to be a part of that!
