🧪 Let’s Talk AHAs — Alpha Hydroxy Acids!
AHAs are water-soluble exfoliating acids that work primarily on the surface of the skin, helping loosen dead skin cells and encourage smoother, brighter, more even-looking skin. But each AHA has its own personality 👇
✨ Glycolic Acid — The smallest AHA molecule, so it penetrates efficiently. Great for texture, fine lines, dullness, and hyperpigmentation, but it can be more irritating for sensitive skin.
🥛 Lactic Acid — A gentler AHA that also has hydrating properties. Great for dry, dehydrated, sensitive, or dull skin while still helping with texture and discoloration.
🌿 Mandelic Acid — Has a larger molecular size, meaning slower pe*******on and generally less irritation. A favorite for acne-prone, sensitive skin and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.
🍊 Citric Acid — Naturally found in citrus fruits. Often used in formulas to provide mild exfoliation, antioxidant support, and help brighten uneven tone.
🍎 Malic Acid — Found naturally in apples and other fruits. A relatively gentle AHA commonly paired with other acids to boost exfoliation and improve overall radiance.
🍇 Tartaric Acid — Naturally found in grapes. Often used alongside other AHAs to support exfoliation and help optimize a formula’s pH and performance.
