My very own club sized mirrorball. Ohhh, hi! Here’s a little peek into The Electric Room. I didn’t really know what I was going to do with this room at first. Fk…I didn’t even know I was moving my business location until I walked by the space one day in May. Surprised me too!

So this room…I just kind of watched her for a minute.

At night the palm trees outside turn neon pink. Did I know that when I signed the lease? Nope.

But it was an epic surprise and informed my decision to make the windows a very specific magenta color. We call her TELEMAGENTA 💜. She’s hot pink with a violet undertone. Very electric.

There’s a slight nod to Purdy Lounge in here, where I happened to spend a significant amount of time in my twenties. There’s also a slight nod to 1980s Miami Beach…like the vertical blinds I added to play with the light. The room was asking for it. I think this exact yacht club location was calling in a little 80’s nostalgia. There’s some history here on the water. I’m not exactly sure what, but I’m looking forward to uncovering that…or better yet…letting that reveal itself.

Back to the room: okay so…then there is the floor…huge shiny white tiles which I was going to completely redo to a concrete. But I kept seeing the reflection of the palm trees and the boats. It’s kind of like the mirrored floor I’ve always wanted dreamed of. We are keeping it! Then there is the shiny latex curtains. Highly reflective. Once the projector goes up those latex curtains will come alive. This room quickly became about light play.
A room full of things I find electric.
