All About Hair

💔😌 Today my heart is both heavy and full of gratitude.
Night before last, we lost a dear gentleman who was my second father — Mr. Eaves, the owner of the very first salon where I leased a chair.
I walked into Classic Hair Designs in December 1995 as a single mom of five, full of hope but carrying so much. Mr. Eaves didn’t just rent me a station — he helped me build a business and believed in me. In 1999, he opened All About Hair and Lora and I followed him. Not long after, in 2001, Lolly joined us. The three of us became more than coworkers… we became a salon family that lasted until he retired in 2016 at the age of 80.
There were even a couple of sweet years when my daughter Kaylee worked alongside us. I’ll never forget when she was little and asked if she could call Mr. Eaves “Poppy” like his other grandkids. I told her she’d have to ask him herself. From that day forward, he and his beautiful wife Pat became “Poppy and MiMi” to our whole family.
Mr. Eaves showed us what it looked like to build and keep a loyal clientele, but more importantly, he showed us how to live. He was a strong Christian, a faithful husband who spoiled Mrs. Eaves for 67 beautiful years, and a man of deep integrity. To his three daughters he was Daddy… and to Lora, Lolly, and me, he was the same — “His Girls” at All About Hair. He loved us like family, and we felt it every single day.
Even after retiring from behind the chair, he and Pat continued to own the salon so the three of us could keep working together. Then in 2020, during the uncertainty of Covid, they trusted us enough to turn the salon over to us. It was an honor to own and operate All About Hair for nearly six years before we closed the doors.
He may be gone from this earth, but the lessons, the love, and the memories he gave us will live on. We say goodbye for now as we know that we will see him again.
