It was Gato who helped me understand the importance of vibration while I was in massage school.
I always knew that cats’ purrs were healing but was never really sure how. One night, when we were learning about vibration and the importance it plays in cell regeneration, Gato jumps onto my bed and stars purring away, as cats do. I noticed that my entire bed was vibrating. I literally shot up like a jack in the box and exclaimed to only Gato and I in the dark, “IT’S THE VIBRATION.”
That’s why cats have 9 lives, that’s why they put astronauts with cats when they get back from space to rebuild their atrophied muscles. Purring is vibration, and vibration increases cell turnover.
Cats are healing in many ways, not just this. Many cultures have revered them as royalty. Gato was there for me, purring at the foot of my bed, after many broken hearts. He greeted all the neighbors with a friendly meow. Everyone who came across him immediately fell in love with him. His spirit was infectious.
Hug your kitties a little tighter tonight, knowing that their purrs are more than just a comfortable gesture, but actually a means of healing that has been valued for centuries. 🩵😿

My landlord, giving us “plenty of notice,” deciding 2 days ago to tell Brielle that we had to move out of our new space by this weekend because the suite was being seized by the state. Given that this woman has been a nightmare since the moment I moved in, I can’t say I’m surprised. Naturally I have a lot more feelings about all of this that I would like to get down on paper before sharing. In the meantime, I’m not rushing to find a new space to work out of. Might take the summer off a bit and enjoy a little sabbatical. That being said, if we already have an existing relationship, and you’re interested (and have the space) in having me bring a table to your house, LMK. 💜
