Where wild horses roam, tides breathe, and light tells its own story. This is Delmarva through my lens.

Herring Point Sunrise

Today's sunrise comes to you from beautiful Herring Point at Cape Henlopen State Park.

After yesterday's warmth, the winds are picking up and the temperatures are beginning to tumble. A reminder that autumn has a way of arriving right when it feels like summer might stick around a little longer.

Cheers to a pleasant, peaceful, and productive day ahead. Make the most of the moments you're given, get outside when you can, and take a little time to appreciate the beauty around you.

All my best, 🌊🌅

Moody Coastal Blues

Somewhere between the sea and the sky,
there is a quiet kind of beauty.

A weathered whelk resting in the sand, surrounded by shades of blue, soft gray, and moody coastal light.

The colors felt like the ocean before a storm… deep, peaceful, and full of stories.

Sometimes the smallest treasures along the shore hold the most beautiful reminders to slow down, look closer, and appreciate what the tide leaves behind.

Keep looking up.
Keep looking closer. 🌊

All my best,

Went looking for a rocket, found a pier. 🚀🌊

Have a blessed and productive day ahead, Delmarva! This little moment of joy was captured from the OCMD Fishing Pier.

Cheers to a peaceful, productive Tuesday and finding a little beauty along the way.

All my best,

A Great Week Ahead

A scenic and peaceful reminder from the beautiful wild mare Patricia Irene to slow down, breathe deep, and savor the quiet beauty of Assateague.

There is something about this island that reminds us to wander a little slower, look a little closer, and appreciate the moments that ask nothing of us but to simply be.

Cheers to a great week ahead, and to finding a little wild beauty along the way. 🌾🐴🌊

A fall morning on Delmarva. 🍂🌅

The Atlantic catches the first light, turning the horizon to gold as the shoreline wakes slowly beneath a crisp autumn sky.

Out here, mornings have a way of reminding us: there is beauty in slowing down, gratitude in the simple things, and always a little light waiting just beyond the horizon.

Have a joyful Friday and great weekend ahead! Prayers for FL and LA with the incoming hurricane.

Sincerely,

-KL

Delmarva At First Light

Pastel pinks and purples settled over the Delmarva coast as first light spilled across the shore. The morning tide gently embraced this small, exquisite shell, leaving behind one of those quiet moments that seem to belong only to this place.

Out here, the sea writes its stories in sand and shell. One tide, one morning, one fleeting moment at a time. 🐚

Have a blessed Thursday ahead!

Assateague Lightning and one of his beloved mares.

This stallion has long been one of the island’s legends. A few months back, many of us were concerned to see him moving with a noticeable limp.

There is something about this horse. So much emotion behind his eyes, and the same could be said for his mare. I’m praying for his healing, and praying he makes it through another winter on Assateague Island.

If any of you have seen Lightning or Pixie recently, I’d truly love to hear how they’re doing. Admittedly, I haven’t been on the island in about two or three weeks.

Dad life and work have been pulling me in other directions lately.

Have a great afternoon, everyone.

Wildfire Sunset

The sunset arrived through wildfire haze, reminding us that even beauty can rise from disorder. The sky burns, the light fades, and for a fleeting moment, we are reminded how beautiful it is to simply be here. 🧡

Have a blessed and productive Wednesday ahead!

The Atlantic Always Has the Final Word

When the sea gives something back, there’s usually a story behind it.

Buoy 8B, once part of the navigational system guiding mariners through the approaches to Delaware Bay, now rests on the shore near Herring Point at Cape Henlopen.

After the recent nor’easter, 8B and several other navigation buoys have washed ashore along our coast.

It takes an incredible amount of power to tear these markers from the open ocean and carry them home.

A reminder that the Atlantic can be peaceful one moment and powerful the next.

The ocean always has the final word. 🌊

Before the waves, there is the sunrise.

A local surfer pauses for a moment to take in the morning color, standing at the edge of an Atlantic that seems to stretch endlessly toward the horizon.

Then, board in hand, he paddles out into the quiet.

No crowds. No noise. Just the rhythm of the ocean, the colors of a new day, and the promise of whatever waits beyond the break.

Sometimes the best way to start the day is simply to paddle out and see where the waves take you.

Keep looking up... cheers to a week of triumphs and successes ahead! 🌅 🌊
