3 mistakes to AVOID when doing epoxy floors 👀
Because I definitely learned a few things doing the floors at Hideout 😂
1. Not filling + leveling EVERYTHING first
Tile lines, holes, cracks, creases fill them ALL before pouring your epoxy. Your base needs to be as smooth and level as possible because once that liquid epoxy goes down, you’re going to see every imperfection. If you mess up like I did, simply add a second layer to level it out but the cost will most likely double…
2. Mixing your color in at the wrong time
If you’re adding pigment/color, mix it into Part A FIRST. Once your color is completely mixed in, THEN add Part B and mix everything together. Don’t mix A + B and then decide to add your color.
3. Waiting too long when creating your marble
If you’re blending multiple epoxy colors for that marble look, WORK FAST. Once the epoxy is mixed, the clock starts ticking. Don’t pour one color, take your time, and come back later with the second the first can already start setting and your colors won’t blend the way you want them to.
Safe to say I learned so much doing this floor 😭 but wait until you see the finished Hideout transformation.
Save this if you’re thinking about doing epoxy floors yourself and ask as many questions possible as all epoxy brands and types are to be applied differently.🤍
