Twenty years in the hair industry had taken a serious toll on my body. My back had gotten so bad that I honestly didn't know how much longer I'd be able to continue working behind the chair.

About five years ago, I started down the road so many people with chronic back pain know all too well—physical therapy, muscle relaxers after long days at work, epidural injections... you know the drill. After getting very little relief, I eventually had a microdiscectomy in hopes of easing the sciatic nerve pain and numbness in my left foot. While it helped some, I still dealt with significant pain and lingering numbness.
Fast forward to the beginning of this year. I was in pain every single day and started to wonder if another surgery was in my future.

One Wednesday evening, my friend started telling me about Samantha Chirichella and Port City Family Chiropractic. I had seen chiropractors in the past, so I was familiar with chiropractic care, but I was under the impression that after my surgery, it was no longer an option for me.

BOY, WAS I WRONG.

My back had gotten so bad that I was literally walking tipped sideways. I called their office to see if they could get me in, and they went above and beyond to make room for me that very day. I received my first adjustment, and that was the beginning of a life-changing journey.

This week I had my follow-up X-rays, and there is no denying that God opened the door for me to walk into their office. The changes in my spinal alignment have been incredible. I have more space between my discs, better mobility, and far less pain than I've had in years. I can work multiple color appointments throughout the day without hurting. I can stand behind the chair comfortably again.

Simply put, I feel better than I have in years.
If you've been living with pain, discomfort, or symptoms you've learned to "just deal with," I encourage you to look into chiropractic care. I cannot recommend Port City Family
Chiropractic enough. They have truly changed my life, and I am beyond grateful for the care, compassion, and relief they've given me.

And to my fellow stylists—please take care of yourselves. This industry is physically demanding, and your body is one of the most important tools you have. Don't wait until you're barely getting through the day to seek help.
