Have you ever wondered why I Wash My Clients’ feet?

If you’ve ever had a massage with me, you know that I begin every session by washing your feet.

It may seem like a simple part of the service, but for me, it has always meant more.

In John 13, Jesus—the teacher and leader—knelt down and washed the feet of His disciples. It was an act of humility, care and service.

That example has stayed with me throughout my work.

For the past 10 years, I’ve had the privilege of using my hands to care for people. Washing my clients’ feet at the beginning of each session is a small reminder to myself of **how I want to serve**—with humility, intention and genuine care.

Before the massage begins, before I work on the tension or address the pain, I start by serving.

Because no matter how much Services By Kim grows, how many locations we have, or how many years pass, I never want to lose sight of the heart behind it all.

**To serve. To care. And to use the gifts God gave me to care for His people.**

As we celebrate 10 years of Services By Kim, I have to take a moment to celebrate the women who have helped me carry this vision.

Being the owner may mean my name is attached to the business, but SBK has grown far beyond just me. Each woman who has been part of this team has brought her own gifts, ideas, experience and heart for serving others.

You all have supported me, encouraged me, challenged me, and even inspired me to think bigger about what SBK could become. There are things we offer today and directions we've grown that were inspired by the gifts I saw in you.

Thank you for trusting my leadership. Thank you for believing in the vision. Thank you for showing up for our clients and families with the same love and care that I hoped would always represent SBK.

God has placed some incredible women alongside me throughout this journey, and I don't take that for granted.

As we celebrate 10 years of Services By Kim, I’m taking some time to look back at the people and stories that have made these years so meaningful.

Ko’s story is especially special to me. I had the privilege of supporting her during the birth of her third baby, and today, she is a Certified Full Spectrum Doula herself. To know that our time together played even a small part in where God has led her today is one of those full-circle moments that reminds me why I do this work.

Here’s what Ko shared:

"Hello, my name is Ko and I had the privilege of hiring Kim as my Doula when I was expecting my 3rd baby. She was an absolute blessing and was a part of helping me have an empowering birthing experience.

As a woman of faith, I was determined to have a supernatural birth with the help of Holy Spirit. She respected and supported that fully, and God nor Kim did NOT disappoint because my birth was absolutely beautiful! She was right there every single step of the way with the greatest advocacy and service ever!

Not only did Kim stay connected with me well after my baby arrived, but she inspired me, always speaking life into me. I am standing in the position as a Certified Full Spectrum Doula today and Kim played a vital role in that.

This is what 10 years means to me. It’s not just the number of years we’ve been in business—it’s the lives we’ve had the privilege to touch along the way.

When I look back over these 10 years, I can see how much 1 Peter 4:10 has been part of the heart of Services By Kim—even before I had the words for it.

I started with a gift, a massage table, and a genuine desire to help people feel better. I couldn’t have imagined then all the places that simple desire to serve would take me.

Over the years, serving has looked different. It has looked like helping someone find relief from pain, rubbing a mama’s back through contractions, supporting families as they welcomed their babies, teaching other massage therapists and doulas, and eventually building a team of women who bring their own unique gifts to this work.

God gave me a gift, but He also gave me the opportunity to use it to serve others—and I don’t take that lightly.

Ten years later, that is still what I want SBK to be about.

Not just growing a business.
Not just reaching another milestone.
But being a good steward of what God has given me and using it to genuinely care for people.

10 years. Countless stories. And a whole lot of gratitude for the opportunity to serve. 💜

TEN YEARS. That still feels crazy to say.

What started with me simply wanting to help people feel better has grown into something so much bigger—an amazing team, multiple locations, babies being born, new moms being supported, therapists being trained, partnerships being built, and so many women trusting us to be part of their lives.

So for the entire month of October, we’re celebrating!
