Did you know that we can get your haircut for free? If you live in Muncie or Anderson and meet any of the following requirements:

You struggle with:

- Homelessness or housing instability
- and/or, financial hardship (200% above the FPL and below), to
include being enrolled in medicare, medicaid, or receiving
SSI/SSDI benefits

-AND-

- Mental health or substance use recovery challenges
- or, are a Veteran

Then, give us a call and we will get you set up. We will either provide you

Check it out!!! We will be handing out vouchers for Muncie residents who need a haircut and meet the guidelines set forth by Care Cuts. If you aren't familiar with them, then visit our FAQ page on the website at www.carecutsindiana.org and browse around while you're there. We recently received an unrestricted donation from our friends at Blue & Co. in Carmel, IN and it could not have come at a better time. We will be investing all of that donation directly to our mission! There is a lot beginning to stir in our organization. Tell your friends about us and if you're feeling generous, please donate to help us continue this much needed mission for individuals who need a haircut and access to hygiene supplies!

Founded on the belief that everyone deserves to feel seen and cared for, Care Cuts began as a simple idea: bring free haircuts and grooming support directly to those who need it most across Indiana. From our earliest days serving community members on the streets, to building partnerships with dedicated barbers and local organizations, every step has been about restoring dignity and connection. This week, Care Cuts had the privilege of serving five individuals facing some of life's most difficult challenges.

Many people don't realize how exhausting it can be to navigate mental illness, trauma, poverty, or instability while simply trying to make it through another day. Every person's story is different, and often the struggles we see on the surface are only a small part of what they carry.

A haircut may seem like a simple thing, but dignity matters. Confidence matters. Being seen matters.

This week, we watched shoulders straighten, smiles return, and confidence begin to shine through. For a few moments, these individuals weren't defined by their circumstances—they were reminded of their worth.

Thank you to everyone who helps make these moments possible. Together, we're restoring dignity one haircut at a time. And a special thanks to Vibes Barber Beauty Spa for being a barber who cares!

Mark your calendars! Ball State PBS is hosting the 2026 Be My Neighbor Day event on June 6. Care Cuts will be there handing out hygiene kits. This is going to be a fun event for all ages! Plus! I hear that your kids’ favorite tiger will be there for a meet and greet. That’s right! Daniel Tiger will be live in action ready to take pictures! Admission is free and there is so much to see and do!
