Fridays are our favorite. š¤ Anytime my kids need a ride, want their hair done, or simply ask me to hang out, I drop everything.
The day I always knew was coming is hereāthey donāt ask quite as often anymore. So when they do, nothing else feels more important. The work can wait. The plans can wait. Iām cherishing every ride, every hair session, every conversation, and every āMom, come hang out with me.ā
These moments are fewer now, which somehow makes them even sweeter. Iāll take every single one I can get. š¤

25 years ago, at just 15 years old, I walked into Montana Mikeās Steakhouse looking for my very first jobāand this guy hired me on the spot.
At the time, we were the only steakhouse in town, with two-hour waits on Saturday nights. I probably bussed more tables than I ever thought possible, but looking back, I learned so much more than how to clear a table.
Mark taught me some of my very first lessons about customer service, hard work, showing up early, and having a good attitude no matter what. Those lessons have stayed with me all these years and have absolutely shaped the way I run my own business today.
It was so fun running into him after all these years. Thank you, Mark, for taking a chance on a 15-year-old kid, for being such a great first boss, and for teaching me lessons I didnāt realize at the time Iād carry with me for life.
