Rainy forecast is perfect for a massage 🌧️🌧️🌧️
Hello and happy Friday!
I’m Meghan (they/them) and I’m a massage therapist, artist, and herbalist. With ten years experience, I have specialized training in clinical deep tissue, myofascial release, and shiatsu massage and incorporate relaxing techniques like Swedish massage, compressions, or stretching to ground the nervous system.
A rainy weekend is the perfect time to book a massage! I have a few available spots tomorrow, Saturday and you can click here to schedule (https://meghanjohnson.as.me/) .
Want a massage Sunday? Reply to this email and we can get you scheduled. ICYMI my office is on Gentilly now, near the racetrack.
If not this weekend, this is a great time to schedule out your self care plan through the holiday season. You could even book more than one session so you have it set and in the calendar to avoid seasonal burn out. Just saying!
Take good care of yourselves and each other. If you’d like to stay in touch a better way to get updates from me is subscribing over here (https://handlewithcare.myflodesk.com/newsletter) .

Pottery! Available for purchase.
I made these earlier this summer in a mad dash to go through all the leftover bags of clay and reclaim from my couple of years in Berkeley before moving back to New Orleans. I was willing to pack and move pottery I made, but not 50 pound boxes of clay. With a shorter timeline, I didn’t spend as much time with surface designs or push myself to practice more illustration (an always goal I’m working on). I focused on form, precision with porcelain, and making a bowl worth making space for in a full kitchen cabinet. Simple glazing to keep the eyes on the shapes and to showcase the subtle hues on their own.
Practice and play with form and function. ☺️ I had a lot of fun all making these. It was delightful to keep things simple and fun, I didn’t dwell on complex design decisions and I think they all came out pretty classy! I guess you could say I was rushing production, which sometimes sucks the fun out of a creative practice, but my intention was to let my skills come through in their simplest ways, and the result was I felt confident and proud and tapped into a lot of joy and inspiration in the alchemy of clay. 🤗
Last piece already found its forever home and it was the first one I started photographing in this batch of photos, clearly while the sun was still bright! 🌞
Has anyone ever given you permission to fully tend to your body? And not as an assignment or a crisis or forced to face an injury but as preventative care, easing stress before a meltdown, replenishing tissue before there’s an injury, making the care to your body a practice rather than the exception. Maybe now’s the time?
