2019: When I was still doing my old way of styling my hair…just using mousse until my hair got crunchy and wearing it wet all day or using heat on my hair multiple times a week…

2020: When I was just starting to document my curl journey…learning how to use products, learning how to diffuse, and I had said goodbye to the regular routine of curling my curls with an iron for a couple months, or going for a blowout at every haircut…

2024: When I had my most recent washday this week and even though curls will always be somewhat unpredictable bc of their nature, I now have so much more knowledge and tools to take care of my naturally curly hair! And that’s what I want for you too🫶🏼

Tea Tree Triple Threat Invigorating Shampoo (really helps my scalp and gets off all the product…a total reset)

Food For Soft Hydrating Mask (really helps moisturize my hair and get “seaweed hair”)

Shine Cream (really helps add slip while brush styling and creates curl clumps)

I Create Hold (really helps fight frizz while drying…a stronghold gel you can really count on)

Hair Oil (lightweight oil that helps “scrunch out the crunch” and seal the washday)

💕Not getting regular trims
💕Getting blowouts only at salons
💕Scrunching with mousse only when styling naturally & using heat too often
💕Either always clarifying or too much cowashing

💕Detangling hair outside of the shower
💕Air drying & hair stayed wet most of the day

2024
✨Regular trims & a big chop later
✨Going to curly salons/curl specialists (tried the amazing deva cut and the rezocut)
✨Leave-in 🤝🏼 Gel for styling on wet hair
✨Using bond builders before and after the occasional blowout
✨Prioritizing scalp care & using a clarifying shampoo 1x a week (gentler moisturizing shampoo the other washdays)
✨Deep conditioning 1x a week
✨Detangling hair in the shower
✨Learned how to brush style and finger roll for definition
✨Diffusing
✨Scrunch out the crunch with oil after hair is dry
✨Sleeping with silk scrunchies & a bonnet for longer lasting washdays

Can’t get over these results from ultimate repair line!♥️

Since starting this page in 2020, I’ve only gotten blowouts on my curls about twice a year, which was great and super important to the beginning of my curl damage journey, but now I’m going to start thinking about more versatility this upcoming year while keeping my curls health still the main priority!🫶🏼
