I remember on my last birthday telling everyone that being 27 was one of the best years of my life. Then I turned 28, and that quickly upgraded the experience lol

28 was special. It was a year that made me feel like I was finally the person I always envisioned myself becoming…

28 also tested me. Physically, spiritually, emotionally, relationally. I had a few moments where I thought about returning to old ways, old environments, and previous versions of myself.

But despite it all, I made it to another year…

And because of that I’m filled with gratitude.

I pray this year is showered with fulfilled promises. With reaching new heights. I pray it’s filled with inexplainable peace and overwhelming joy.

Thank you God for more life 🙏🏽🎈

A mini weekend getaway to Boston and I was in awe of how beautiful this city looks in the fall😍🍁

Anytime I think of a getaway I always think of the sun, the beach, and anything else that includes the tropics (and some adventure 😉) lol

But walking down the colorful streets of Boston reminded me of how enjoyable getaways close to home can be too…

From walking the pier downtown, to eating delicious comfort food and enjoying live music, I really enjoyed this break from the city 🧡

By the way…can we talk about this weather?! I mean, you KNOW I love the warmth but…..idk if we should be concerned at this point or basking in this 70 degree weather in November while we still have it 😳 lol 🤷🏾‍♀️

This weekend made 1 full year of me being a full time creative…

And if there’s anything I’ve learned, it’s that when seasons change, it will call for a different version of you.

Much like the fall. When autumn enters, we bring out the pumpkin spice lattes ☕️ , warm scented candles 🕯️ and fall fashion 👢.

In that same way, becoming an entrepreneur requires a different version of you. It takes different levels of discipline. It takes tuning out doubt and amplifying your faith.

It makes you more conscious of your time, of the company you keep, and of how you take care of your health…

So if you feel like you’re entering a new season in your life, know that it’s going to require a different version of you.

You’ll experience a little rain, a little sunshine, lots of seed planting, and seasons of harvest.

In the end you’ll look back & realize all of it will lead to G R O W T H 🧡

I’m always aspiring to become that morning person who wakes up right when the sun rises…

However, whenever the alarm goes off early, my aspirations go right out the window and I just want to snooze for another hour 😳🤷🏾‍♀️ lol

A good cup of coffee, having my hair done, and getting dolled up DEFINITELY makes it easier to jump start my mornings. I’m 2 weeks away from making 1 year since I’ve left my job & become a full-time entrepreneur 🤯 !!!

And to think that I told myself “We’ll see how the first 90 days go and take it from there…” lol

Though I knew that I always wanted to have autonomy to work for myself, I never saw it happening the way that it did.

I was thinking about what I’ve learned over the last 12 months and these were some of the thoughts that came to mind…

⚓️ Being a full-time entrepreneur/creative takes NEXT LEVEL faith. What used to be a comfortable reliance on a stable income, turned into sowing seeds of prayer, trusting that God is THE ultimate source, and challenging myself to create work that people would enjoy.

🕚 Work-life balance is hard enough. I think it becomes a bit harder one you start working for yourself. It’s almost like you never really clock out 😳 lol That’s why taking care of my mental and physical health became a major priority for me in more recent months.

✈️ The liberty to be in control of your own time/schedule is priceless. I can go on & on about this. You know I LOVE cafes & traveling, so being able to work from anywhere was always a dream! However, that being said, time management skills are CRUCIAL. My first few months of working for myself taught me that I needed to tighten up in that area.

I’ll be talking more about this in the next few weeks, but I just wanted to remind you that you are ABSOLUTELY capable of doing THAT thing your hesitant about.

Take it to God. Wait on His timing. Know that whatever He gives you, He will also sustain 🧡

Living life with purpose & grateful for the one God gave me 🌞🏝🌴

And as I’ve been growing and evolving as a person, it has also led me to grow and evolve as a creator….

When I think about my faith and some of the experiences I’ve been through in my life, those are the first words that come to mind when I think about who God has been to me.

Y’all, I’ve had some faith-filled experiences where you’d truly have to have been there to believe me because there is just nooo wayyy it would make sense lol 🤯

I think that that’s the sweet thing about a true relationship with God though…

It’s so personal and uniquely designed to you that YOU KNOW when it only could’ve been God.

He’s ALL about the details in your life. And the more you get to know about Him, the more you learn about who you were really made to be.
