At 47, this is the workout routine I follow as a physician to support healthy aging. 💪✨

🗓️ My weekly routine:

Monday: Full-body strength (30 min)
Tuesday: Upper body (30 min)
Wednesday: Stationary bike (30 min, Zone 3–4) 🚴‍♀️
Thursday: Full-body strength (30 min)
Friday: Lower body (30 min)
Saturday: Rest or Pilates 🧘‍♀️
Sunday: HIIT on the stationary bike (30 min)

I don’t work out because I want to be perfect. I exercise because I want to stay strong, protect my heart, maintain muscle, and stay independent for years to come.

The biggest secret isn’t the perfect routine—it’s consistency.

If you’re just getting started, don’t aim for 30 minutes. Start with 10 minutes a day. Build the habit first. Small, consistent steps lead to big results over time.

Healthy aging isn’t about doing more. It’s about showing up, week after week. ❤️

I’m honored to be featured in to share my thoughts on one of my favorite skincare ingredients: vitamin C. 🍊✨

One thing I love about Korean 🇰🇷skincare is that it doesn’t take a one-size-fits-all approach to vitamin C.

Instead, there are options for every skin type—from gentle vitamin C derivatives for sensitive skin to high-performance pure L-ascorbic acid formulas for experienced users.

What also sets many Korean formulations apart is their focus on the skin barrier. Rather than chasing fast results at the expense of irritation, many combine vitamin C with ingredients like hyaluronic acid, niacinamide, centella (Cica), and panthenol to help brighten while supporting long-term skin health.

My advice as a physician:
✨ If you’re new to vitamin C or have sensitive skin, start with a gentle derivative.
✨ If your skin tolerates it well, you can gradually work your way up to more potent formulations.
✨ And remember—consistency matters more than choosing the strongest product.

Thank you to Allure Magazine for including my commentary. It’s always a privilege to share evidence-based Korean skincare with a wider audience.

💬 Comment AZELAIC and I’ll send you how I like to use them.

✨ One ingredient. So many benefits.

Azelaic acid is one of my favorite skincare ingredients because it multitasks without being overly harsh.

✔️ Helps reduce acne
✔️ Calms redness and inflammation
✔️ Fades post-acne marks and pigmentation
✔️ Gently unclogs pores
✔️ Often well tolerated by sensitive and rosacea-prone skin

Unlike many acne ingredients, azelaic acid can be both an active treatment and a soothing ingredient—making it a great option for many skin types.

Over-the-counter products are typically 10%, while prescription versions are commonly 15% or 20%.

✨ If you’re struggling with acne, redness, or dark spots and don’t know where to start, azelaic acid may be worth considering.

💬 Comment AZELAIC and I’ll send you my favorite over-the-counter recommendations and how I like to use them.

One of the biggest concerns after stopping GLP-1 medications is weight regain.

Why does this happen?
Because rapid weight loss can also reduce lean muscle mass — and muscle is critical for metabolism and long-term weight maintenance.

The most evidence-based ways to help reduce rebound weight gain:

✔️ Resistance/weight training
✔️ Adequate protein intake
✔️ Creatine supplementation with exercise

Creatine is one of the most studied supplements in sports and aging medicine. Research shows it may help improve strength, exercise performance, and lean muscle mass when combined with resistance training.

Suggested basics:
• Strength training: 2–4x/week
• Protein: ~1.2–1.6 g/kg/day
• Creatine monohydrate: 3–5 g/day

Healthy aging is not about becoming smaller.
It’s about staying strong 🤍

☀️ Sun sticks are amazing—but only if you use them correctly.

Here’s my simple routine:

✔️ Right cheek

✔️ Left cheek

✔️ Philtrum

✔️ Chin

✔️ Forehead

✔️ Above the eyes

✔️ Don’t forget your nose, ears, and neck.

💡 I make several passes over each area to build an even layer.

A few important reminders:

* Apply a regular sunscreen as your base in the morning.
* Use a sun stick for convenient reapplication throughout the day.
* Reapply every 2 hours, or every hour when swimming, sweating, or towel drying.

Healthy skin isn’t about one perfect application—it’s about consistent protection.

How often do you wash your makeup sponge? 👀

If you’re using it daily, it may be collecting:
• oil
• makeup residue
• dead skin cells
• bacteria

A microbiology study found that makeup sponges had some of the highest bacterial contamination among cosmetic products, including bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus and E. coli.

My recommendation as a well-aging physician👩🏻‍⚕️

✔️ Wash your sponge after each use (or as often as possible)
✔️ Let it dry completely between uses
✔️ Replace every 2–3 months
✔️ Replace sooner if it develops an odor, tears, or stays stained

This simple habit may help reduce irritation, clogged pores, and breakouts.

Comment SPF and I’ll send you my go-to recommendations 🤍

Mineral vs chemical sunscreen—patients ask me this every day ☀️

Here’s the truth:
✔️ BOTH work when used properly
✔️ The difference is skin tolerance + texture preference

💡 My guideline as a doctor:
• Sensitive / post-procedure / rosacea → mineral
• Acne-prone / oily / makeup-friendly → chemical

📊 Evidence shows both provide effective UV protection when applied adequately and reapplied.

The real problem?
Most people don’t apply enough.

✨ Focus on consistency, not perfection.

So honored to be featured in Allure discussing Korean sunscreen trends and the beauty culture behind Olive Young 🇰🇷✨

As a physician practicing in both Korea and the US, I’ve seen how Korean beauty focuses not only on results — but also on texture, layering, skin comfort, and long-term skin health.

In Korea, sunscreen is expected to feel:
✨ lightweight
✨ elegant under makeup
✨ barrier-friendly
✨ comfortable enough for everyday wear

That philosophy is one reason Korean SPF innovation continues to stand out globally.

One mineral sunscreen I consistently recommend for sensitive skin:

Most Americans don’t get enough fiber — yet fiber is linked to better gut health, cholesterol balance, blood sugar control, heart health, and healthy aging ✨

Daily fiber goal:
✔️ Women: ~25g/day
✔️ Men: ~38g/day

One easy way I personally increase my daily fiber intake 👇

☕ Morning: Fiome with my coffee (5g fiber)
🥜 Afternoon snack: FLOURA bar (15g fiber)

What I like:
• simple whole-food ingredients
• no added sugar
• no artificial additives

Fiome contains ingredients like chicory root, Jerusalem artichoke inulin, dates, and oat fiber.
FLOURA bars are made with 12 whole plants and come in delicious flavors.

That’s already ~20g of fiber ✔️
Add vegetables with lunch or dinner… and you’re likely hitting your daily goal 😉

Small consistent habits matter more than perfection.
