In many Indigenous communities, elders are the keepers of memory and wisdom - held with reverence. Age isn’t hidden; it’s honored. And not so long ago, even in broader society, growing older carried a similar sense of respect.

Somewhere along the way, things got warped. In modern beauty culture, aging became something to fix. Lines became flaws. Time became an error. Stay youthful, but don’t try too hard. Age, but not visibly. Be natural, but not too real. A moving target, and rarely a fair one.

Of course, nuance lives here too. Caring for your skin is real. Wanting to feel good in it is real. As a skincare brand, we hold that tension. We see skincare as nourishment, not correction. As ritual, not penance. Supporting your skin through time, not fighting against it.

Maybe the question isn’t whether to care for your skin, but how. From a place of respect or erasure, allowing space for the full arc of life? Your face is not a problem to solve.

What if beauty is something we feel, not something we judge?

One Earth Day a year to highlight the environment after 364 days of extracting, overproducing, and externalizing the cost? That’s not responsibility, that’s optics.

The truth is, any consumption has an impact. The question is whether we choose to value people and planet on the same level as profit - or keep treating them as afterthoughts.

What if we built businesses differently from the start - regenerative, circular, accountable - so that care wouldn’t be a campaign, but just how we did business?

In that way, we could instead grant a single “Fossil Fuel Day” for industry lobbyists to gather, hand out branded tote bags, and have their moment. And let the rest of the year belong to protecting the biosphere we all depend on 🌍🫶

A smile shared with a stranger, the strength of empathy, and the power of humanity.
