The tributes in lights and now the drones - each one symbolizing a person lost that day -swarming together to recreate the Twin Towers, honor our Country , the lost lives and our national loss of innocence.

A drone show recreated the Twin Towers lit up the skyline over New York Harbor on Wednesday night, honoring the lives lost when terrorists flew two planes into the buildings on Sept. 11, 2001.

The display, titled “2,977 Lights Over New York Harbor,” featured 2,977 lights — one for each person killed in the attacks.

Organizers said the lights “rebuilt the Twin Towers at full architectural scale” during a community gathering of remembrance.

Family members, survivors and first responders from the 9/11 community helped create the aerial artwork.
