The lips you see walking out of the appointment aren’t quite the lips you end up with, and that’s exactly how it should be.
Right after lip filler, some swelling is completely normal. The injection process itself causes a bit of inflammation, and hyaluronic acid naturally draws water into the tissue, so lips can look fuller and slightly firmer in the first few days. Over the next one to two weeks, that swelling resolves and the filler softens and integrates with your natural tissue. What you see at the two week mark is the most accurate picture of your result.
What to expect as your lips settle:
Swelling is usually most noticeable in the first 24 to 72 hours
Mild tenderness or bruising can occur and typically fades within a week
