First things first—yes, the hair in this photo is a topper. ❤️

A few years ago, one of my clients who was going through chemo brought me her topper and asked me to color it. I realized I was pretty good at it—even though it’s human hair, it’s a whole nother beast and can be difficult to color.

Then more and more clients started coming to me looking for options. Some were experiencing hair loss after COVID, some after weight-loss medications, and others from menopause, medical treatments, or simply changes in their hair over time.

Then I started wearing a topper myself because of MY hair thinning, and that completely changed the game for me.

I realized just how natural they can look, how easy they can be to wear….PLUS I can disguise my roots and dirty hair. 👏🏼👏🏼

For some reason, hair pieces on TOP of the head get a bad rap…but yet people walk around with jacked up hair extensions and eyelashes that look like a Slinky attacked them without a care in the world. 😂

Losing your hair sucks. So does growing old. We put Botox in our face. Clip in the damn hair.

This gorgeous lady walked in and I was instantly smitten. The epitome of class and grace. She was not losing a lot of hair but wanted more volume. ✔️When a topper client is not my color client, my goal is to color the topper to blend with existing color…not mess with another stylist’s work. Heather did a great job blending it with her current haircut. We decided to keep the face fringe a little longer to soften around the face. 🙌🏼 And clearly she doesn’t like her picture taken…hence the before pics she sent me 🤣

🖤Color correction by A few years of black box color!! Natural is the goal and she has about 3 inches of root growth. Pulling this color out of hair is not quick and it is not easy AND it will always end up very warm and uneven. This turned out beautiful, but is honestly nothing like her inspo pic...it takes time and patience and also, someone willing to do it because it’s a lot of work😜😉
